Ugh--I hate what this is doing to me

Whether it's because the Humira is giving me all sorts of infections or it's just my immunity I'm frustrated. I'm sick of doctors. I'm sick of being sick. The Humira is working for the Crohn's dramatically healed the sores over a single year but I'm dealing with all sorts of other issues now.


I woke up with a lump under my ear lobe... I'm still recovering from an infection--could be the reason. My lymph nodes could be inflamed. Perhaps a cyst or a pimple... could be cancer. Online it says to go see a doctor if it's painful--which it's not. Online it also says to try to do a lympathic massage which I did. I wake up to new things all the time and I bet the doctors think I'm slowly losing it. Don't know what to do. Never had this many problems before.

I'm sorry Sarah :-( you sound like me. It just seems like one health problem after another. I'm currently in the process of being referred to an eye specialist as I keep having pain behind my right eye on and off for the last year. I cannot even face also tackling the fact that I have bad joints and sometimes spots of blood after sex (thankfully smear test normal). I feel embarrassed every time I go to the GP.

I have had lumps and bumps over the years though and I think you should be OK if it goes away in a week or so. I would give it some time to heal on its own. Sometimes these things just develop, like cysts as you say.

I refused the Humira as I hate injections and the fact they said it would leave marks so you had to avoid already injected areas made me feel like a pin cushion!

My eyes are terrible keep watering it's like the tear duct is swollen above my eye and underneath

Recently I was bed bound! I'm a carer and really realised how it feels my daughter of 9 was washing my hair as couldnt lift my arms couldn't get out for toilet so she had to help
Had melt down cried my eyes out couldnt deal with it ! But didn't last too long started treatment being v can't spell it

I went to the doctors yesterday and he said it isn't a cyst, pimple but it looks like a swollen lymph node. Basically nothing to be concerned about so long as it doesn't grow or is painful. He says it should go away in a week or so when I recover from my latest infection. (I'm on my last day of antibiotics from my last infection and I have a new one already)

Do I ever relate to you! My joints are constantly in pain and new things pop up everyday. I had a discussion with my doctor when I was first diagnosis and he asked me if I know what comes out of getting a diagnosis. I said I was just too excited to finally have some answers. He told me that once there's a diagnosis, it just gets complicated from that point on. I can say that I'm pretty much a scientific guinea pig now. My medical file is thick like a medical text book and I'm pretty sure DR are afraid to treat me now.

Most injections require you to inject in a new spot anyway. Humira has certain places where they suggest you inject yourself but I've not had a problem with marks on my skin. It heals nicely by the time I have to inject again.


The only thing really terrible about Humira is the side effects. It's helped my Crohn's though so you take some and loose some.

I also have never had it leave marks. It has helped with psoriasis.
