So I had posted a while back about how Entocort was helping me. That is here: http://www.crohnsforum.com/showthread.php?t=33635
I went back to my GI for my follow up. It did NOT go well.
To start off with, they called to move my appointment time earlier in the day. This is hard for me because I teach. It's not easy to leave at the last minute for an appointment change. Luckily my boss was very kind and allowed the secretary to watch my class so I could leave about an hour early. Got there at 3 PM. DOC did not come into the room till 4PM (the time of my original appointment!!!) I was NOT happy.
We go through the appointment and then he sees that I'm on Entocort. He asked how that happened. (My GP put me on it) Then he asked if I noticed a difference since taking it. I told him that I had started taking it on Feb. 23rd and that March 6th was the last day that I have had pain (still true today). He then tells me that I must be having a Placebo Effect!!!! Can you freaking believe this?!?!?!?!
At the end of the appointment, I told him that next time I come in, I do not want to see him as my doctor again. I want to go back to the doctor I was originally referred to. (They are in the same office. I was switched to him to give him patients I guess) I was able to blame it on the appointment moving and how our schedules just don't match up.
He can't even fill a day. That's why they wanted to move my appointment. Finding this out added to the placebo theory made up my decision.
I now have another colonoscopy scheduled and will follow up with the other doctor from now on. At least he mentioned Crohn's on my first visit and had seemed to already rule out IBS!!
Thank you for listening.
