Update for you guys, Thank you all so much for your advice and support

Got in last night to message from Hospital, rang them this morning to find I have an appointment ... Tommorow morning at 9.30!! Amazing, so so pleased, my doctor sent them a letter and they have responded with a slot :)

And.. Went to see GP this morning, he has given me stronger painkillers & Provide Extra juice drink for the meantime - advised me to have 1 a day, 300 cals. Got 10 of those on prescription- has anyone tried these before?? ..wondering if I can ask for another flavour... seems to be a lot, they have to order them in anyway..so will be a few days

So pleased managed to get some meal replacement and my appointment :)

Cocodomal-ing it up until then!

That's awesome I'm glad to hear it. No I have not had that drink before sorry but I'm glad that you got it. :D Keep up the good work, you're doing great.

They are the same as Ensure Juice plus (cant have milk or wheat) - hoping they really help lots :)

Believe or not am looking forward to seeing the gastro!! (not seen one in 7 years!)

I've only had the vitamin chocolate flavored Ensure. :p
 
Yay Dancer, so happy to hear you're finally going to get some calories! After reading your posts, it was starting to sound like you were going to starve to death before the doctor would do anything! What flavor drink are you getting? I agree with Crabby, chocolate Ensures are my favorite. :)
 
Blackcurrant..to be honest he just clicked the first entry he saw! Wondering if I could ask for Grapefruit or Citrus-Cola.. that sounds delish!!

Choccy ensure sounds lush... milk and me dont mix though!!

Just got back :)

Was up there 3 hours, he had a good look, pumped air in and used a tube etc etc

Then sent me for xray

Upper bowel is blocked up ..lower clearer and says that the ulcers/inflammation is clearing

Basically said the pred has done its work - to stick to painkillers, the Productive Xtra drinks and see how I go. Got some medicine to help clear me out..got to take that tommorow .... he said it will be horrible at first but should help the pain a lot.

Was really nice and sweet, offered to write a letter for work as well

Wish me luck with the clearing out tommorow LOL

Got to try this Movicol today to clear me out...eeeek.. still got D..so cant say I am looking forward to that LOL

Order my juice drinks too...hoping 1 a day will really help.. 300cals is better than 0!!

I've got 4000 words to write and revision LOL.. I hope I dont end up on the bog all day!!! (taking my books in there!)
 
I hope your day is going well Dancer!! I guess the whole idea of the movicol is to make you spend the whole day on the bog isn't it?
 
I hope you have a laptop computer! Might be hard to get a desktop into the bathroom! What is Movicol, is it like colonoscopy prep?
 
No.. he says it will clear what is backed up in my upper..he thinks this will solve the agony when I eat anything and the many man bowel movements!

I hope it works.. in the meantime now got the stronger Cocodomal, anti sickness etc

Now tapered off the pred + am to stop the predfoam also

so far nothing is happening, bleeding a tonne.. and thats about all!

No bm at all.. normally would of had at least 20 over Saturday + Sunday! .. arg.. drinking loads, had 2 Movicol this morning, glugging my water

Hopefully will start working
 
Have you talked to your doctor? How long should it take? This seems too long to me!!
 
He made it seem like it would be explosive!

I had 1/2 Saturday, 1 Sunday, 2 yesterday, 2 this morning... hmm

still waiting!
 
Erk... its working.. arg am so so sore :eek2:

gone from 10 times back upto 20 odd times.. erk.. hope it only lasts a couple days

Having babyfood pouch and water...Hope this works fast!!!
 
Using Cocodomal 30/500 and not having solids..so I am not too sure, pain is moderate..with the stronger cocodomal

Gastro did say it would feel a lot worse at first, fingers crossed!!

Tried the drinks.. cheap version of Ensure Juice.. called Provide Xtra...man it tastes awful..worse than Cocodomal!! ..after all that battle to get it!! lol Does Ensure Juice taste awful??

Its called Provide Xtra

assume its a cheaper version of Ensure, hence it was recommended by the computer system at docs!!

it makes me gag!! lol

Movicol seems to be working now, he said to take it everyday longterm.. so hoping it will settle and not keep causing this sort of disruption, came home a bit early, didnt want to risk having an accident at work...eek

Keep us posted Dancer!! I'm sure after you settle into a routine with it you will figure out what and when to eat to get some sort of timing down. Good luck!!
