Hi everyone.

I just thought I would post an update since I last posted.

Going back to last September when I had my last scope, there was some narrowing in the colon near the rectum. They ordered a barium enema test, which confirmed that. I saw my doctor in December, and he wanted to do another colonoscopy, which I had done today, and it's nothing but good news.

The stricture is gone, and they said that was most likely inflammation at the time, as opposed to stenosis. Both the colon and small intestine were normal, and realistically, he probably could have used an adult scope, but he ended up using a pediatric scope because of the possible stricture that was there the last time.

They did do biopsies, which I'll get in a couple weeks, and pending the results of that, they stated it's probably okay to stop the Humira, as well as the iron supplements, which I have been taking, as the latest blood work showed my iron levels were normal.

If there's any other updates I'll pass them along.

No, I think I would be staying on the Lialda and 6MP. The only meds that I would be stopping would be the Humira and the iron supplements.

Happy news!!!! All digits are crossed here that the good news keeps coming for many years to come!

Hi everyone.

I figured I'd just post this here, rather than start a new thread. My GI doctor called today, and the only thing about the biopsies was that there was some mild chronic inflammation of the cells near the rectum, but other than that, there was no significant difference than what they saw through the camera when they did the colonoscopy. That being said, he is going to stop the Humira, and just keep me on my other meds (Lialda and 6MP).

I'm also stopping my iron supplements, and if memory serves me right, it was my primary care physician that started me on those about 10 years ago I think when I had a physical. My latest blood work showed that my iron levels were normal, so the GI doctor didn't see a need for me to continue the iron.
