Okay, read my story to get a better understanding, but this is an update as many of you have been concerned (aww!).

So, me and mum went to the doctors this morning. My new doctors as i've changed so many times, now i'm seeing my mums doctor. She is caring and actual bothers. Although she thinks I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome... but that doesn't explain how much pain I get in and the Chronic Fatigue doesn't quite add up either..

A few weeks ago my doctor sent me for a blood test, I went and they did loads of tests. My doctor said there was an abnormality with one test with my stomach or something, around that area. She has said that I can't go to college until our next appointment in two weeks and we will review then.

I got sent to hospital for the same blood test because the last one came up as a 'red flag' and they were concerned. So we're hoping this blood test shows the same result - although knowing my luck, it will say i'm normal :( lol

Because of the abnormal blood test, I have put bumped up the list awaiting the specialist so within two weeks, I should have heard from the hospital - if not, then I have to wait longer, but still be seen quicker than if it was all normal (bit silly, but good for me now..)

Hmm what else? Oh yes, i've been put on a medication called 'Colpermin'. Bit confused because it's for IBS, not IBD.. as far as i'm aware and I did try to tell her that my last flare up I had, I was given this, and it didn't help, so what makes her think that this flare up (being worse than last time), will be any different? Why will it work now? Oh well, i'll take it. She also tried to get me to take ' Mebeverine'. I had to explain that that won't help, and made me worse last time anyway.

It was a little bit embarrasing when she wanted to take a look at my bum though.. after all, I have a fear of being touched (due to sexual assault attack from behind) so she asked if I wanted to see a psychologist about that because when I go to hospital, i'm gonna have loads of people touching my bum and the specialists are mainly male in that department of my hospital. I'll get over it I guess. I'm not going to see the psychologist though. I don't need to, in my opinion. I have in the past though.

I think that is it. So good news I guess. Mum is sorting arrangements out with the college about exams and work so I don't fall behind.

Feeling pretty positive and want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me :) And thanks Joan for getting me to write lists! The doctor was happy about that and made things more clearer!

My God! You poor thing. I can relate to your situation since my chronic symptoms started to occur when I was entering adulthood too, and it's such a horrible feeling. Like you're being robbed of your youth, your innocence, your freedom, friends, everything.

I hope you get some of those all important answers. Keep us posted on your progress. :)

Hi Tasha, I am pleased that your are feeling more positive about things  Hopefully you get an appt really soon and please keep us updated.

That's good news, hope your appt comes round soon.
Can't go wrong with Colpermin, anything with peppermint oil soothes and rests the bowel.
At your age/student you shouldn't have to pay for prescriptions, but when you do, it would be cheaper to buy this OTC at Boots.
An anti spasmodic pill like Buscopan is just as good as Colofac (mebeverine) too.
Anyway, you'll soon know whether it relieves and helps.
I've tried them all, moons ago, before dx
I hope for your sake it's IBS, but I'm not entirely convinced! Not if there's bleeding, vomiting and weight loss
good luck
xxx

No, it's definately not IBS because IBS is based on stress.. you can ease your IBS with staying calm.

Also, IBS goes away at night... other issues don't, like crohns.

It's also not IBS because of the inflammation in my stomach that the blood test picked up. x

Tasha, I'm very happy to hear that at least you are 'getting seen to' and more specialists will be on your team. Remember our 'talk' and know that even though men may be touching your bum, you're tough! (now, if you can manage a good stinky fart at the same time...good on you!)
:rosette2:

I know sweetie, but it's not me you have to convince! xx
I had this IBS crap for 15 years!

Okay, and yeah that sounds awful - but you did get through it and you did get a proper diagnosis so that's brilliant :) x

Haha yes I remember the talk! :) I can get through this and can't let the past keep me back! I'd rather not fart on the doctor, bit gross, but accidents happen! Hehe x

Thanks for the update. When you find out what blood test was abnormal, can you please let us know? Good luck!

The blood test yesterday results will be a few weeks, i'll let you know.

And the abnormal blood test showed inflammation in stomach. Xx

Thinking of you!

:ghug: Hey Tasha, just read your story and other postings. Good gravy, you have been thru the wringer! Glad you will be getting some answers soon (hopefully). Until then, keep on em, and if you worsen---keep on em! Take care! :rosette2: Dana

Ah yes. I'm very confused. Which results?

I'll explain all then!

This blood test in the top that starts the thread was 3 tests ago. It showed my ESR as 35/11 and the average healthy person is 11/11 which shows there is inflammation.
They sent me for another blood test a couple of weeks ago or something - time merges these days! And got the results for that Thursday when I went to the doctor due to peeing blood.
The 35 isn't going down.

My doctor is concerned because no one has ever looked into my kidneys and i've been getting pains that *can* relate to the kidneys. So she sent me for another blood test that day. I'll get those results on Monday when I go back to the doctor.

Because of the bloody urine and pains etc, i've been sent for an urgent ultrasound scan in a week or so and should be sent to hospital sooner than before now.

They don't think the IBD issues is connected to my kidney issues.

Also they're concerned because I had HSP (henoch-scholein purpura (something like that, bad at spelling it!) ) which can affect the kidneys in the future.

I think that's everything!
