Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

Have worked out this is night number 36 in hospital this year! Got a few more to come yet. Wonder what the total will be by december? They are giving me all my meds by iv still at the moment so will need to be able to take them by mouth before I can leave. Still having lots of both anti sickness and pain meds as well. Manging to keep water and un-fizzy fizzy down but not much else. Dont want food anyway.

Shazz, I am so incredibly glad that you are still being taken care of, though not happy that you are still suffering. Big BIG hugs!!

Some day soon, you'll be able to eat like a normal person! (almost anyway)

36 days in hospital seems a long time (done it myself unfortunately) but from now on, things are gonna get better!

Glad to hear you're feeling better:) 36 days in the hospital! Are you trying to pull a record Shazz?:rof: Hopefully now that you're finally being taken care of the pain and discomfort will eventually become nonexistant for you. Xxxxxxxxxxxx:kiss:

I'm so glad you are getting taken care of!!! yippee!! How long are they going to keep you there?

Ugh, that gallbladder stuff is no joke. It is so flippin painful. I feel for you, but am so so so so so glad that you are getting help for this!!

Thanks all. Was hoping to go home tomorrow but I keep being sick. Only water and non fizzy fizzy stays down. Tried some soup for tea but no that didn't want to stay. So jus trying to keep water down. Might ask for some fluids through iv overnight or else when the take my bloods tomorrow I am not going to be able to go anywhere. At least they are taking good care of me. I have been written up for 6 different types of anti sickness stuff so will try them and see what one works best! Well if I cant go shopping might as well do something! Xxxxxxxxxx

I know you don't want to be there, but at least this tiem they are actually trying to HELP you!!!! big hugs shazzy :) I really hope you feel better soon.

Dont forget internet shopping Shazzy! A girl has to keep sane!

They'll get your sickness at a liveable level. (for us) And hopefully you can ask for enteral nutricion (I cant spell...I've taken a cold tablet)

At least get some sleep and rest if you can in there.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Was thinking about you today as a wise person told me " the nhs only has the resources for the emergency cases therefore they're not interested till you become an emergency" wise statement I'm sure you'll agree with.

Hi Shazz
Attention at last1
At least they seem to know what they are doing this time.
Feel better soon
Hugs and Best wishes
Trysha

Yeah they are very good here. Its a cardio thorrasic(sp?) ward but they are really interested in my welfare. Just had some oramorph and 2 anti sickness drugs via iv. They are metaclopramide and cyclazine. Had them in tablet form and they usually work. The oramorph is kicking in now and one of the anti sickness drugs is making me a bit woozy but in a good, had a glass of wine kind of way. Will stop typing this now as its on my phone and I cant see straight! More tomorrow hope all your tummys are behaving. Xxxxxxxxxx

Saw the doc this morning and he said if my lft levels are ok I can go home when I feel up to it. Its a standard 2 month wait for the op to allow things to settle and reduce the risk of any complications. Was an underling I saw this morning. Will see what my bloods are but I am not going home yet. Will ask about the nutrition thing misty. Forgot about that this morning. Am still on oramorph and iv anti sickness stuff though. Will ask about that for when I go home.

Yes, and you need to be seen by a GI as well!! The least they can do is get you set up with one again.

Hi Shaz, oral ondansetron is brilliant for nausea and it is about the only thing that works for me at times. They aren't always keen to prescribe as it is very expensive but they let me have it now as it works well. It is also given in iv form. If you find that your current oral sickness tabs don't work that well you could ask to try it. It can be constipating but thats a bonus for me!
Hope you escape soon and your lft's are ok.

All bloods have come back ok. I am staying today and going home tomorrow. Trying to find out the results of my biopsy from the scope. They did, I think, test for crohns. Will let you know if I find out anything

I am so glad you are being treated now Shazzy. And am so glad you are being heard. I hope you dont have crohns though! Hope that all the treatment gets you back on the mend and you can enjoy being home with your family.
:rosette2:

Very thankful that you're feeling better:) I too hope crohn's is a no. But, no matter what it's good to hear that you'll be soon home in your own bed/home. Take care & Hugs! Xxxxxxxx:hug:

YaY!!! Shazz is alive and kicking butts! SOOOO glad things are getting done and you will be home soon--this time because you are doing better and not because they are ignoring you.

Chuffed you can go home tomorrow (whoop!) I will be keeping everything crossed that things can start heading in the right direction for you hun

I AM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kept another fresubin down and half a bowl or soup so decided to come home early.
Plus on the really good sside is the head slicer and dicer is going to be doing my op in 5-6 weeks!!

No news on the biopsies as they were not in my file yet so assuming they have not come back.:stinks:

On the sofa chillaxing

Going to have another fresubin in a bit after my next anti sickness tablet then going to go bed nice and early cause i is knackered!

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:ghug::hug::ghug::hug:

Really tired.
Got a bit of a plan for the next 5 weeks or so.
Going to stick to fresubins and mashed potato for a few days.
Then maybe add some chicken over the weekend.
If that goes ok, I might have some tuna fish/salmon (love all fish)
Then i might add rice and some well cooked carrots next week.
Keep it simple and bland and fat free!
What do you all think?

The girls said it all. Gotta admit that smoked salmon is a favorite in our house. Have a smoker and we do that once in awhile(cheaper than buying it from the store). Take it easy. Xxxxxxx

Bland and soft is the way to go I think. And now low fat, thanks gallbladder!
I think 1 new food every 4-5 days. See how that is accepted

I will be watching the post every day now waiting for my op date and pre-op assessment date.
I got a horrid feeling my gallbladder op will delay my pouch surgery though but if its got to be its got to be.
To just be free of pain for a little while would be nice!

Shouldn't they be able to do both at the same time? Definitely ask about that.

Edit: Nevermind.... I just realized from your earlier post that you are talking about a different surgeon doing your gallbladder surgery. Ah well.....

I did wonder if they would do both at the same time but as it is 2 different surgeons I doubt they would.
Shame really, would be better for me if they could do both in one go.

Am finally down to 5mg of the Prednisolone! Never thought this day would come.

Really tired again today so staying in bed for a bit longer. Also started feeling sick again so had a nice cup of tea and a couple ginger biscuits with an anti sickness tablet thrown in for good measure.
Pain is building again but don't want to take another tramadol just yet. Want to keep those for when its a lot worse so just taken some paracetamol to see if it will take the edge off.

Going to have another snooze now because the time in between blinking my eyes is getting longer!

Congrats with the pred:) Sorry to hear that you're feeling sick again:( Just thankful you're able to be at home where you're comfortable. Have a good snooze. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:hug:

Had half a bowl of cchicken soup for lunch.
Still feel sick and a bit shaky.
Just going to eat small, tiny amounts when i feel like it and stay away from fatty foods.
Had a nice shower but now knackered.
