So there is this product called "Plant Fusion" on a site called nitrofusion. I was looking at the unflavored product and it is vegan, it doesn't have dairy and it is not made from soy either. It's got lots of protein too. Would this type of product be acceptable for a person with Crohn's Disease? Is there a chance that it would cause/increase diarrhea in a Crohn's patient or does it have ingredients in it that a Crohn's patient should avoid?

Here's a little bit of what their site says;
The high biological value of the 100% plant-sourced protein of PlantFusion provides all the essential amino acids and is perfectly suited for those following a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle to acquire a multi-sourced, high quality protein. And it will not cause intestinal distress like many soy products.

I haven't personally tried this product, but from the sounds of it, I would guess that someone with crohn's disease might find it beneficial. It has the same idea as enteral nutrition as in using easily digestible hypoallergenic proteins.

Hemp protein is a complete protein and is very gentle on my gut at least. Personally I would try natural alternatives before diving into this, but should it cause diarrhea or pain? I don't think so.
