Ive been there, try a different ER. Seriously I went to one multiple times and they called me a drug addict to my fam. in the other room. A few weeks later I went to a new one and low and behold they did a GI series and WOW a stricture who could have known?

I know it sucks but this could help also, eat as little as possible so your blood work shows it. Tell them you feel faint and you havent been eating, when they test your blood sugar and its low that'll help.

Describe the pain as intense and in waves, hell throw up on them. Dont say Crohn's, let them feel smart, Docs like that.

I dont mean to be patronizing, I just hate to think your in pain and you can't get help.

thank you i wish and hope i will get the help i need my reg doctor is doing everything he can to help find out whats going on

I think it's terrible that any medical professional would treat any patient that way. It sounds as if you do have a lot medically on your plate. I also have asthma, so I can understand your discomfort there as well.

I will agree with Hazardous about going to a different ER. My brother has worked as a security guard for one of the major hospitals here in Anchorage. I learned this from him, and even witnessed it myself. The 3 major hospitals are: Providence Hospital (Catholic Owned), Alaska Regional Hospital (non-religious private hospital), and a large Public Health Service Hospital. Randy claims that while working as a security guard for the Public Health Service Hospital, he noticed a large influx of patients, especially drunks and drug abusers on the weekends or around major holidays. He learned from the EMTs that the other two hospitals were claiming to be maxed out, and were referring the patients to the Public Service Hospital. Randy's theory was because it was a Public Service Hospital, and therefore run on government money, they couldn't turn anybody away, and therefore took the patients that the other two hospitals probably didn't want to serve. That sounds terrible and I'm hoping it's just my brother's theory and not the truth. Though it does sound likely to me.

I guess the real point that I'm trying to make is, you need to sometimes, "Think outside the box." My family has a preference for Providence Hospital. My father has had surgeries there and loves the service. Scott, my hubby, prefers Alaska Regional. I had used the Public Service Hospital for a couple of ER trips, and I would have to say that I received better treatment there, than the other two. My doctor was very compassionate and thorough. I even wrote a thank you letter.

Don't lose hope, and continue to search for answers regarding your pain and digestive distress. You may need to go elsewhere.

I agree with Andi, next time pick a different ER if there is one in a reasonable distance. Once an ER has decided you are just seek pain meds, they are not going to take you seriously unless you are bleeding buckets.
