Today is the day for my scope! Not till 3:30 but here I am wide awake at 6am fretting and stressing :( Terrified of having something put up my butt, even though I understand it's necessary. Hope I can get some answers within the next couple weeks!

I had mine a month ago and I was nervous too. I explained my anxiousness to the various nurses and staff and they were great, always telling me what they were going to be doing next. Then they started the IV drug to put me to sleep. Next thing I know I was waking up in recovery. And I had both the lower and upper done. You'll be fine. It's a breeze!

According to the pamphlet I was given, they don't do sedation :( It's a flex sigmoidoscopy they are doing. The doc did mention sedation, so I will probably take it if I can

I had a sigmoid years and years ago. You should ask for and take the sedation. They didn't offer me sedation for that when I had it, but that was some 20 years ago.

Went well I suppose. He said the diverticulosis is really bad. He took some biopsies and I should have news by the end of next week. I did get sedation :) though I kinda remember some bits, not much though. Was faster than I expected and I am in a bit of pain this morning, thinking it's where he biopsied

I'm sorry your disease is bad but I'm glad your procedure went well.

I was sore on the inside after biopsies from my colon were taken. It'll clear up soon.

I am just afraid they won't find anything and I will have to basically start over from scratch to find out what is happening. Or I will have to be opened up with a laparotomy :(

It took a few procedures to find my issue but they'll find yours. Keep me posted on the biopsy results if you feel like sharing when you get them. :)

Glad everything went ok (mostly), and you're just waiting for results. I'm one of those annoyingly glass is half full people... if they do have to do the lap... maybe they'll cut a few adhesions and give you a ton of relief? It happened to me. Take good care after the biopsies. :ghug:
