Violent sickness!

My about to turn 13 son, who was diagnosed with Crohns in October and treated with predisolone (spelling) and azithiprone, he finished his steroid treat last thursday, so been a week free.

He has been complaining of rumbling tum, and headaches, however last night he woke us a 1.30am complaining of feeling sick, and that was it, sick all night long!!

Not sure if it is crohns related or a bug, we all ate the same thing last night, and we are all ok. He has also been to the toilet alot, not sure once again if it is a bug or yet another relapse!!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

He was due at the hospital today for a check up, but obviously we couldnt go and had to cancel and reschedule for two weeks time. Have waiting for a call back from them, and still waiting, will try again tomorrow.

Ugh, it is so hard when this sort of thing happens...is it gastro or is it Crohn's!

I think the only thing you can do at this point is wait and see how long it lasts. If it settles in 24 - 48hrs with no obvious lasting effects it may well be gastro. Also you could ring the local doctors surgery and school to see if there is anything going around.

Well, quick update.

Sickness lasted from 1.30am to 4.30am in the morning, then nothing more. By lunch time he was feeling much better, and was starving, and feeling alot better!

Its his 13th birthday tomorrow, so we have gone ahead with the sleepover last night, 3 friends came round, he is having a great time, not doing any activities, just hanging out at home, playing on the xbox, and been on the trampoline a few times.

My guess it was a tummy bug, as it has passed so quickly, frustating thing is that i havent heard back from his nurse!

We will keep a close eye on him, and any changes will be back on the phone constantly until we get an answer. Just had half term and back on Monday, not sure what hours he will do, day by day.
