Vitamin D

Just a quick question about vitamins. I give Kian an omega 3 with acde mulitvit every day but im thinking of just vitamin d on its own. I dont know if his level is down or not but it wouldnt do any harm just to give it him, would it? I read that vitamin D helps with growth?

As far as I know vitamin D3 supplements can't really do any harm even at twice, triple or more of the required daily supplemental amount.

I imagine if you live in Scotland, you probably aren't getting a huge amount of sun. Your son is likely low in vitamin D if he isn't getting a lot of sunlight. Anyway, I've heard that if you take less than 10,000 units daily, it is hard to OD on it... Ask David. He knows all about it.

He is an oudoor boy and is outdside more than in really, lol. i wonder if the vit d levels are routinely checked when he has in 3 monthly bloods done, i will have to ask. xx

Vit D isn't normally a routine test. When is he due to have bloods done again?
