Had surgery back in 2008 have been experiencing lower right side pain for awhile also has anyone experienced symptoms of Vitamin loss symptoms especially from Vitamin B??? Last Colonoscopy was OK???
While symptoms can vary, Vitamin B deficiency can very much resemble the symptoms of Iron deficiency (anemia). It can also lead to its own form of anemia which can result in permanent nerve damage if b12 deficiency specifically is left untreated.
Sounds like an echo asacol prednisone even the GAD...switched to Humira after Remicade seems to be helping. The reason for the thread was that I had gotten tired of giving my self the vitamin B injection and wanted to see what kind of symptoms anyone in my situation was having..
What sorts of symptoms do you experience and where is your crohn's located? Good to hear the Humira is helping you.
My Crohn's inflammation is located in the area of my terminal ileum and colon. I also get lower right side back pain, and this pain location happens to be near the area of my terminal ileum.
As for Vitamin B deficiency, my symptoms mimicked my iron deficiency/anemia symptoms (weak, extremely tired, sluggish, lack of focus). It actually wasn't until I found this site that I learned B12 vitamin deficiency from crohn's could be causing this. Turns out the terminal ileum is the only location in the body that absorbs B12 and if there is inflammation, there is likely deficiency.
While therapy REALLY helped me, my GAD still shows it's ugly little head a bit here and there, but it has interestingly enough become even less of a factor in my everyday life since I was treated for Crohn's with the cocktail of pills I listed in my signature lol.
