Today, seven hours ago I was in a rush and got some fast food. A few hours later, I get this terrible headache. It only hurt when I was laying down. Then I started to vomit violenty - I was almost choking and couldn't breathe a few times. It lasted a solid four hours. I was sweating with a 103 degree fever. I couldn't bring myself to drink anything. Then all of a sudden about thirty-minutes ago I am feeling fine. My limbs are tingling quite a bit, but I am sipping on water now so I hope it clears it up.

This is by far the worst thing I have had to deal with yet. My cramps and burning pain seem like a field of flowers in comparison. Now that I feel fine, is there any need to go to the ER. I did consider calling an ambulance at one point, but talking wasn't really an option.

I don't know if it matters, but my bile was red then the normal green, then to a hunter green then brown.

You probably couldnt digest what you ate and may have had a minor blockage. Its probably good you got rid of it. If you are feeling better, you probably dont need to go to the ER, but for a good day or so, you should really eat very light or drink Ensure/Boost, as there still could be some of that food left in your intestines and you dont want a blockage. Make sure you keep hydrated by drinking something like pedialyte.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson :)

Sounds like something that happened to me when I ate some chicken that we found out hadn't been fully cooked. It was food poisoning for me. I was vomiting for over 6 hours and after 6 hours I had my mom take me to the ER where I got some fluids, anti nausea medication, pain killers and some much needed rest. I'm never going to tell someone on this forum not to go to the ER but to just do what you think is best. If it happens again though, I wouldn't hesitate.

**EDIT***
sorry I'm having a hard time finding what to say...

It sounds like you may want to go to the ER anyway. If not for any other reason that to get some fluids into your system. Your body may have been purgin the fast food from your system especially if your used to eating very healthy, but at the same time it also sounds like theres an underlying issue that your body was attempting to resolve. Keep your diet almost liquid, broths, popsicles, teas, ect. Don't introduce anything solid until later tomorrow night and even then it should be things like saltines or oyster crackers. Good luck thoughts and prayers

If this ever happens to you again go to the ER ASAP! If you are not able to breath for any length of time, please don't mess around with that! Also, a block is nothing to mess with. If you don't feel significantly better in the next few days, go to the ER, and call your Dr tomorrow please and tell him/her what happened today.

Hope you keep on the mend!

I am feeling perfectly fine now. It came on so quickly and ended abruptly. I vomit in the mornings almost always but they're very minor in comparison. I see my GI tomorrow. I will go from there.

Do you have crohns in your stomache or higher in your digestive tract? It's possible the grease upset it causing you to vomit violently, or perhaps your migrain caused the vometting. At any rate I hope everything turns out alright, let us know what your GI said

I am still undiagnosed. I don't think it was a migraine. All my symptoms, other than burning stomach pain, have just surfaced three months ago. I started cramping and having stabbing pains. I then started vomitting in the morning, and my BMs exceed ten a day. I first went to the ER when I vomitted black blood. IBD is suspected - inflammation is showing on the CT scan, liver enzymes are elevated, suspected ulcer, and bloody, black stools.

I plan on eating nothing for the next day or so. I have stocked myself with gatorade.

My mom used to vomit every morning too along with all the other symptoms minus the blood. Turns out she had type 2 diabetes and her blood sugar was over 400. Not a bad idea to have your blood sugar tested as well while you're there just to be on the safe side if you haven't already.

I saw the GI today, and she said I would have had an obstruction last night. They did another CT scan and my entire colon is inflamed, with the exeption of one small area. I have now been diagnosed with Crohn's.

Sorry its Crohn's but I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis. What's the treatment gonna be?

I am starting with 5mg Prednisone and Zofran. I think this GI doctor is garbage. I asked for Vicodin (my first time asking for pain pills), and I was turned down. Her response is she goes by the book. Well I am no book.

5mg for your entire colon (almost) and some nausea medication? That doesn't make much sense to me. Any chance you can shop around for another GI? I wouldn't feel comfortable with that treatment plan either personally.
