Hello all in sure many of my questions have been addressed but have difficulty in finding the post. I'm a 28 relatively healthy male. Guess this all started in May 2015 slow onset rlq pain nausea vomiting diarrhea went to ER Ct scan blood work all normal diagnosis with mesenteric adenitis. Symptoms returned in November 2015 and May 2016. Very common to have frequent mushy bm multiple times of the day especially after eating. Become the norm to be up at least one night a week having diarrhea.l. This most recent "flare" came on same as the others but had not resolved. Currently experiencing moderate rlq pain nausea and vomiting along with diarrhea when first started. I haven't really been able to eat or tolerate large amounts of fluids without vomiting so the BM have been non existent. So far I've lost 30lbs since Mother's Day. Had a CT and blood work which was normal. Colonoscopy relatively normal with the exception of small patch of colitis in rectum and multiple biopsy take . The GI was only able to scope about 2-3 inches of my ileum. Currently on lialda prednisone and living on tramadol to be somewhat functional. Ive read that no 2 people symptoms are alike but I'm starting to feel like I'm crazy as I was hoping all the answers would be there after the colonoscopy.
How long did it take from first visit to diagnosis?
Has anyone else experience constant pain with vomiting?
How long do "flares" typically last and how do you control the symptoms?
I appreciate your time and any advice you can give.

Unfortunately, welcome to our group!
You sound a lot like me when I started, except I didn't have the vomiting. The rest is pretty much identical. From the point I started showing symptoms, including a similar weight loss, it was about a year. Then again, that was 30 years ago. I would like to think medicine has gotten a little better at this game.
Where is your pain located? If it is abdominal, it would suggest a possible partial obstruction when combined with the nausea and vomiting.
Flares are really individual. I was in at least a low grade flare for almost 25 years until I started remicade and azathioprine. Those are areas where medicine has definitely improved.
Keep a food journal - anything you eat and drink - and the time you consumed it. Also record the onset and duration of symptoms you get. It should help you start to pin down what foods you can and cannot eat. Again, each of us is different on that.
Hopefully your medications take effect rapidly for you. If you can push it to the background you will be able to continue a pretty much normal life.

You said the colonoscopy was normal except for a small patch of colitis. Forgive me but I wonder if you have Ulcerative Colitis. I hope they can get you feeling good soon
