Hi guys,
I've registered into university for next year, and after asking around a bit i've found out that classes start pretty early...
my day usually depends on how good a bowel movement i had in the morning - not enough time in the morning means pains all day...

any suggestions as to how I can "wake up" the bowels even if I wake up early? I've heard a few drops of lemon in your tea help, has anybody tried it?
Any general tips on how to get by when you have to rush through the morning to get somewhere on time?

try set a routine up before you start ur class so get up the same time as u would when you start the classes so train ur bowels now

hope that helps

i work at a dementia hospital in the kitchen and before i went into remission i wouldnt work the morning shifts as my bowels would always be at worst when i get up but ok during the day

Agree with setting up a routine. Have you tried exercising? Usually in the middle of a run I feel the need to go... Also talk to the school. Not sure the name of the dept. but there should be one you can talk to about this. They can let your early morning professors know that you might be late/need to leave to use the bathroom and that they should accommodate you.

I know the only time O chem was offered at my school was extremely early in the morning (I think the earliest class was allowed to start). And the prof was a total hard ass about it. So if you have officials from the school you should be able to avoid or better defend yourself from poor treatment.

Hi: In addition to the routine (an excellent idea from previous posters), would it be possible for you to rearrange your sleep schedule so that you wake up, say, 3 hours before class, or however much time you need?

wow, thanks for the really quick replies!

I think that setting up a routine that would take place even if the classes don't start early would really help!
And I do need to find someone from the university who I can talk to about this...
If anybody has already starting studying, could you please tell me how much power a student has over the times his classes start? do most classes take place more than once a week at different times, or do most have specific times and days of the week that aren't changeable? I only get to pick my courses in a few weeks, so I don't know yet...

But I'm not sure I could wake up 3 hours before the class... It's a half-hour commute by bus to the university, and if the class starts at 8 that could be a real problem...

Hi again: Flexibility depends on your institution and your program. Larger universities will offer more sections of the same courses, so you would have more choice. Certain programs (sometimes Education, Nursing programs, for example) will require you to take specific courses at specific times. If you are doing a BA or a BSc, on the other hand, chances are good that you will have some choice in which classes you take in your first year, and when.

Hope this helps!
