I had my first flare up in May of 2002 when I was 13. I went was transported to the hospital where the tests began. I had no color, lost a lot of weight, and couldn't eat anything. I even flatlined because of a complication with a pick line they fed to my heart, that apparently messed up my heart rhythm but came back on my own miraculously. Worst thing that a kid could go through. Fast forward 2 weeks and the doctor actually told me himself that I was "dying." Nothing they were doing was working and about a day later, they found out it was Crohn's. They gave me every drug known to man to get it under control...That's basically what I went through when I first got diagnosed.

Since then I've been battling hard. In 2009 I was hospitalized again and ultimately had surgery to get it taken out. I refuse to get treatment because I just want to feel what it's like to be normal but now I've started to feel it coming back so I think it's about time to hit the Remicade again. But I'll tell you what, having that normal feeling again was great and I don't regret it.

all these corageous stories are truly inspirational.... makes you feel like you are not alone...keep the faith !!!!

Hi wolverine and welcome! I am sorry your remission had to come to an end. Hopefully, Remicade will get your current flare under control and have you feeling "normal" once again.

Crossing my fingers for you!
