I've recently started to train again after years of suffering with crohns, currently on infliximab which is helping, tied in with training is making me feel a whole lot better.
However I would like to put some more weight/muscle on and previous attempts to drink weight gaining shakes have resulted in many trips to the toilet with diarrhoea,is there anything out there which is suitable or has anyone had similar problems and found something suitable for them?
I've had numerous operations and have had a metre of my intestine removed so I think that may have something to do with me not tolerating the shakes.
Thanks,
Dan.

First off, what brand?
99% of these contain a slew of ingredients that nobody, especially not Crohn's patients should be consuming.

These include sucralose, maltodextrin, high fructose corn syrup, emuslifiers and cargeenan.

Look for naturally flavored protein shakes by brands like ON, or unflavored by True Athlete.

If it's giving you diarrhea you need to stop drinking it. It's doing you all harm and zero good.

Remember most of these shakes are just sugar and milk powder with fancy labels.

Thanks for the the info, have tried sci-mx weight gainer shake and another which I can't remember but both would've been a mass muscle gainer.
I stopped drinking them pretty much instantly after they'd given me diarrhoea as I've suffered with crohns for 23 years now and had spent enough time on the toilet.
As now my crohns is relatively under control due to infliximab and I think trainings helping also I'm just on the look out for something to bulk up a bit.
Many thanks for the recommendation of those other brands,I'll give them a try and if all else fails I'll try and eat more to gain the weight.
