I have UC and I was positive for c-diff a few weeks ago and took flagyl. I am cleared now but I think it made me have a flare. I can't get rid of the diarrea. It has amroonish blood alot of times, so I kinda look at my stool when done to see how much is in the toilet. Sometimes it looks like round things, about as big as the tip of my pinkie finger with strinks coming out the sides, like a spider....as i said i don't usually analyse my stools but I have seen this alot. If it was a food particle, it wouldn't be there all the time beecause I don't eat the same stuff all the time. Freaking me out! I am kinda afraid to say anything to the Dr, he will probably think I am crazy!

Docs are well used to patients asking strange questions.
Never be afraid to ask your doctor any question about anything that is causing you concerns. Not knowing can lead to stress which is a whole different ball game.
So please...if this is continuing and diarrhoea and blood are not normal..consult your doctor immediately..

The doctor hears this kind of stuff all the time. Hey ~ he's the one that signed up for that profession. Also, we all analyze our poop. It comes with the package. I'm trying to picture how you've described it, and it sounds a bit like Type 6 on the Bristol Stool scale. The spider legs coming out could be mucus. Just my thought. Also, because it floats, you have undigested fats in your stool. Check out this link. It might help. But definitely call your doctor.

Thanks for that info ha,ha however it looks more like a #1 brownish in color with a hard looking shell with stringy like legs. Kinda like a stink bug, ever seen one of those? My boyfriend says I am crazy, nobody had big bugs in their poop!

Okay, so you're constipated with strings of mucus? I haven't seen that before, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. You're not crazy. Your boyfriend just doesn't understand. Call your doc and explain this to him. Sounds like you're flaring because of the blood and mucus. I flare with diarrhea, but constipation is a possibility.

No constipation, all diarrea. I said it looks something like #1 round in shape. Waiting on call from Dr now. I think I am having a flare, from the C-diff infection and the meds, alot of diarrea.
