What are your signs of an impending flare?

For some reason a day or 2 before I begin feeling sick I almost always get very light headed, cloudy, confused, and have a an overwhelming feeling of being faint. During that time I usually don't have any digestive signs, but always know an episode is in the very near future. I also normally get really bad chills/anxiety during the opening day of a flare up, even before the pain becomes even that apparent, along with big time sleep disturbances and crazy dreams.

The past year has been that exact cycle. I feel okay for 1-2 weeks then get sick anywhere from 2-5 days with that 1-2 day "aura" in between. Anyway, what about you guys?

I'm having the exact same symptoms plus like a pressure in the front of my head and I'm developing sores in the corners of my mouth and sore throat

Ushually night sweats! the tend to occur a few days before im going to be bad! and also the light headedness, and genraly tiredness!

I used to get really REALLY moody about 3 days before a flare and once the gas started, I knew the bleeding would show up the next day.

I don't have a dx yet, but with both tummy flares and joint pain flares sadly I get zero warning, they come right outta the blue.

I usually figure it out when my guts are squeezing everything out (to a greater extreme than day-to-day) and I get fatigued after (again greater than everyday). Or when the pain pills are not working!

Two indicators for me have been severe anxiety which appears out of the blue for no apparent reason and severe migraine like headaches.

extremely severe fatigue. when i sleep 14 hours a day i know things are about to get really bad quick.

I have basically been in a flare for about 3 years with severe symptoms but that is probably due to the fact that I was not dx yet and not on proper meds.

For both of my two flares I always start with narrow green stools, then a pain in my front right pubic bone, and a pale reddish vaginal discharge. then the bleeding starts slowly, I think its piles so have always started with the pile cream. It dosent work. The bleeding and diaherra get worse. I seem to go through the same stages, narrow stools, watery stools, stools like toothpaste, then they get more soild as i improve and change back to a natural brown colour, bleeding increases, then the urgency and wind start. I get dark rings under my eyes, sore nose and a coldsore as well! Luckily I caught it a little quicker this time and got the predfoam from the docs, I think after 2 months im finally coming out of the flare. I made the stupid mistake of cutting down on my 3 a day mesalmine tabs and then caught some bug.

That's a great question!

For me, I can't think of anything specifically. In remission I still deal with gassy days and an odd day where I prefer to be within a few feet of the toilet (but that is quite rare!). In my last flare, which lead to surgery, I had horrendous heartburn, but never linked that to my Crohn's. After the heartburn settled down, I suffered with constipation quite a bit. The tummy pain actually took about two years to set in (lucky, for me?). I guess the other thing would be getting up to poop in the middle of the night--expect for when I've travelled across time zones and my body is confused. And when I start vomiting, I know things are quite bad!

So suffice to say I get a bit antsy when I have heartburn now!

I must be an odd one. While I haven't had a real flare in a while, I've had mini ones. You the ones where they could go either way? I have an ileostomy, so prior to that I'd have what I used to call "the hot sh*ts" Excuse the language. It always felt like it was burning. Then I'd get lower back pain. Much like menstrual cramps. I still get those every now and then when I'm stressed. Then I stress about stress causing a flare. It's a vicious cycle!! Haha. As the years with the disease go on I notice I have more fatigue. But hey, it's something we learn to cope with :)
