OK, I'm having my pill cam tomorrow but I wanted to get a copy of my recent tests. Can you guys tell me what they mean. Small history. D for years. Weight loss started 6 months ago. Went from 192 to 134. Stomach pain pretty severe. Eating - not much.

1. MRI: 5/10/12 Impression:

1. Concentric wall thickening, mild to moderate luminal narrowing and mural hyperenhancement involving the terminal ileum, consistent with inflammatory bowel disease or other cause for infection /inflammatory entritis. There is no evidence of associated bowel obstruction.

2. Non-specific, potentially reactive small volume of dependently layering free pelvic fluid.

Note: There is a small volume of dependently layering fluid in the pelvic cavity, which is new from from previous CT of 04/10/2012 no organized abscess is visible.

3. Tiny fluid signal cyst is noted superiorly in the right kidney.

Blood work:
1. CRP 58.2 (B). Levels of >8.0 mg/l indicate possible infection, trauma, cardiac infarct or neoplastic proliferation.

2. ESR 41 (H)

My question is what is this fluid in my belly? Also, what do the blood test mean? Further, does this sound consistent with Chron's?

Hi Anyone,
Sorry to hear of your problems and hope they can soon be resolved.
The first item, wall thickening may relate to the colon and can occur with inflammatory conditions, like crohns.
The free pelvic fluid is just that, and they need to evauate it, likewise the kidney cyst.
CRP and ESR are blood tests which indicate inflammation in the body and your results
are quite high.
It is indicative of an inflammatory condition, .
The pill cam will give valuable information and will point the specialist in the right direction.
Some of what you are saying are symptoms that could be consistent with crohn's.
Further tests will establish your diagnosis.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha
