What do you do when you're in remission?

Do you stay involved in Crohn's walks/research/chatrooms/etc when you don't have any symptoms? Or do you just sigh a big sigh of relief, and pretend nothing had ever happened to you... until the next round starts?

I've fortunately been in remission now for about 9 months, which is wonderful, but I'm afraid that I've lost perspective a little bit - forgotten what it's like. (even though I still get poked with remicade every two months + the doctor's check-ups...) I researched the disease when I was feeling bad a year ago, but haven't done much research since then. I just went to a student group meeting for the first time last week and felt somewhat out of place -- because other than the remicade, I don't feel like I have Crohns anymore (even though I really do). And, of course, I disappeared from this forum... not intentionally, but just because I didn't feel like I had anything to say anymore.

Of course it's not really gone -- I'm still tired all the time, and when I catch the cold I really catch the cold... but I don't always associate those things with Crohns anymore, because I (fortunately) don't have the constant pain and bathroom runs anymore.

That's a good question.
I will let you know whenever I get into remission. If I ever do.
But I do wonder how much I would forget if at all.

Hey! I think I feel the same. I am in remission too (about 7 months). I had a hideous year last year but I cant ever imagine that happening again (although the whole 'chronic' aspect tells me otherwise. ) I almost want the next episode to come and go so I can see what I am in for but all is good ( and i an NOT complaining). So I don;t really know what to do until then. I can't travel (under docs advice- Boooo!) My gut tells me I will be fine for a year or two. ... Here's hoping! I guess ot's just like some kind of no man's land.

best of luck:)
