Do you stay involved in Crohn's walks/research/chatrooms/etc when you don't have any symptoms? Or do you just sigh a big sigh of relief, and pretend nothing had ever happened to you... until the next round starts?
I've fortunately been in remission now for about 9 months, which is wonderful, but I'm afraid that I've lost perspective a little bit - forgotten what it's like. (even though I still get poked with remicade every two months + the doctor's check-ups...) I researched the disease when I was feeling bad a year ago, but haven't done much research since then. I just went to a student group meeting for the first time last week and felt somewhat out of place -- because other than the remicade, I don't feel like I have Crohns anymore (even though I really do). And, of course, I disappeared from this forum... not intentionally, but just because I didn't feel like I had anything to say anymore.
Of course it's not really gone -- I'm still tired all the time, and when I catch the cold I really catch the cold... but I don't always associate those things with Crohns anymore, because I (fortunately) don't have the constant pain and bathroom runs anymore.
