I was on 6mp it didn't work and now my body is not taking well to Humira. I need meds for aggressive crohns to prevent relapse but the other drugs for moderate to severe disease are in the same class and likely won't work or be rejected by my body.

How long have you been on the Humeria? I had to take it a good year to start seeing great results. It took some time, and is well worth it now. I suffer from severe Crohns Disease, been two years almost now since being diagnosed.

There are newer drugs coming out all of the time. I'm about to try Tysabri because i have failed all of the biologics and immunosupressants.

Just because one biological drug has failed, doesn't mean the others will. Humira and Remicade are 'made' differently, so lots of people respond better to one than the other. There is also cimzia and tysabri to consider. Finally, there are clinical trials of stem cell transplants, and other biological drugs going on, some people on here have been through them already, so you never know what treatments will be around the corner!

I agree with Rebecca. I failed on Cimzia, but Remicade is working great for me. I'm not all the way in remission, but I'm 95% better than I was 2 months ago, before I started Remicade. I was on Cimzia for a year, along with Apriso, plus Imuran the last 3 months or so. We switched the Apriso to Lialda, stayed on Imuran and switched the Cimzia to Remicade. It's working great.

According to my IBD nurse there is quiet a few other biologics in the pipeline, depending on price/insurance etc she and my GI reckon Bio's are going to be the frontline drugs for Crohn's as it can stop it from getting agressive and/or successfully treat aggressive Crohn's.

Some people are apprehensive about the side effects, you'd be surprised just how rare the scary ones are, that's why I have that link in my sig, so people can have a gander.

The problem is I'm allergic to humira and will probably be to the other biologics because of the foreign particles.
