Is it normal or am I am imagining it? My body feels like i've been in a boxing ring, My neck is stiff, My muscles hurt and spasm and I am exhausted. I even have pain under my arms and down my arms and lower back. I can't sleep either.

I don't want to be going to my GP if its Crohn's related because he won't be able to do anything for me.

Hi Sarah and welcome, I know how you feel! Right now I feel like one giant bruise. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. I'll asked about it then. I am assuming it is somehow crohns related most things are. Even under my arms hurts !!!! I am not at all new w/ cd. But this is a new symptom for me. One day is a fluke. Two days is strange, and three days is a situation. I am on day three. Sarah, How long have you felt this way?

Two days, my body is even sore to touch. I am very new to Crohns only just diagnosed in January but its in my family, unfortunatly I can't ask those effected as my aunt passed away 3 years ago but I do remember her being so exhausted she found it hard to get out of bed at times. Your right 3 days means its worth going about it, i'll see how i feel tomorrow and go to my GP if it is still like this. Unfortunatly I know my GP will say there is nothing he can do until i've seen my specialist. I just don't think i can handle another 2 weeks of this.

This must be common with Crohns /IBD as this would be very usual for me when I get bad days . I take it the exhaustion is due to mal absorbsion of minerals from food. The aching joint I guess is part and parcel of active inflamation in the body and also onset of arthritic pain. Also certain medications do have the side effect of sore joints such as Asacol which i know from personal experience.
Please do get checked out as it will give you peace of mind.

Peter, thanks for that. I'm on Pentasa although a very low dosage as the specialist said i only had mild Crohns but since my last visit in January the pain has doubled and i'm experienceing more and more symptoms as the weeks go by so this one is new to me.

I'll certainly have to have a chat with my specialist when i'm back there end of the month. I do think my meds need changing and my bloods need checking.

The more and more i'm discovering about this the harder it hurts knowing what my aunt went through her whole life and even though we were very close and i was always up visiting her in hospital and at the convent (she was a nun), I now realise I hadn't a clue what she was going through.

Ohh my...
I have had this on and off for 2 weeks now.. I just assumed I have been working out too much, gave up the gym for a few days, and it came back :frown:
Sorry your are going through this Sarah. It sux

I have managed to get an earlier appointment with my specialist. Going back to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. I almost ended up in A&E on Thursday last week, I had reached my breaking point but it started to calm down then and by saturday I was pain free for a whole day. Pain came back with a vengence sunday evening with Nausea too, so muslce cramps, body aches, joint and muscle pain along with all the stomach/back pains too...... Starting to feel like someone in my past has a voodoo doll of me :(

Hi Sara, I am sorry you are still suffering so much. Your symptoms do sound like your crohns is active. I hope they get this sorted out for you. My giant bruised feeling went away just as mysteriously as it appeared. :hang:

Thanks, i'm getting through it so long as people don't ask me how i'm feeling then i feel like i'm about to burst into floods. So i keep my head down and try not to talk too much to people anymore. Thankfully my cousin came over saturday night and we had a long long chat, she has gone through something similar as she has MS so was good to talk to her. The Forum has been amazing too, don't feel so alone at times.

I hope you feel better soon- its easy to ignore symptoms but, I have found better to ask in case its an easy fix.

Hmmmm- easy fix? Is anything wasy with IBD??

Get better soon and listen to what your body is telling you!

This is almost exactly what I have been feeling. My hubby came to give me a hug the other day and I kinda pulled away from him. My feet are the worst though. So bad last week I spent a couple of days in bed. I feel like someone took a hammer to the bottom of my feet.

My feet hurt so i cant get to sleep , i find if i cycle the pain goes away for a while. Sitting around really makes them worse for me .

When I wake up in the morning they don't hurt but as soon as I am up for any length of time they hurt the rest of the day.

Well i had visit with my GI Specialist. I'm now on Endocort 9mgs per day and staying on my Pentasa but adding in Calcium Tablets also. Only wish i'd gone the doctor last week while I was in the full flare, he'd have seen me hit the ceiling with pain if he touched my stomach then.

Can't believe the price of the Endocort, mad money, how do they get away with charging that sort of money?

Hope it works for you Sara!
PVail you might be on to something. I was up all day yesterday and my feet did not get bad until I laid down last night!
