Hello, Hope everyone is just fine!

I am new here so hey ooh :)
boy I'll make it short, I have peri-anal fistulas for 2 years now. Was put on some meds that doctors now say not so effective anymore. Developed some peri-anal abscesses. Did a surgery 70 days ago draind abscess and 4 setons were placed. They said i should start infliximab to try to close the fistulas and stop the pus! I really hope it works :)

Anyways, I started infliximab last wadnesday (first infusion) its been 7 days. So if infliximab was meant to show progress, when should I excpect it? :strawberry:

Hope everyone the very best.:thumleft:

Thanks.. :p

I know you'll hate this answer, but it's different for everyone :( Hopefully any minute now for you. I'm sure others will be around soon to provide their personal experiences on when they started to feel better.

Welcome to the community by the way! :)

It Started to work for me around the 4th dose.

And when it works boy does it ever!"!!

Good luck

hey i felt better after my first, but others its there 2nd, 4th etc so ya everyone is different I guess

I think I started to feel a little better from the first time I started taking it. Some of the symptoms have gone better, but no improvment on the fistulas side. Has anyone ever had a fistula closed or go better after Infliximab here? I really need to hear from them! :)

I have abscesses and fistulas as well. I have had 3 infusions in the 6 week period. I felt pretty good after the first 2, less drainage, and finally came off prednisone after 9 months. My arthritic symptoms are way less now. Before my 3 infusion an abscess started to reappear....im thinking, like seriously!!! I had surgery just 2 months ago to get rid of the abscess, now another. Ive been told it takes a while to feel better, and i guess i do, but back in pain with this tender abscess. I hope you the best, positive thoughts for you.

Hope you all get better and better! :)

Its so good to hear that there are others in the same boat- Badr....It can be so frustrating. I called my GI today and he's getting me in to have a quick look. This new abscess has moved in right next to my old one, which is still a wound and healing. Wish you luck on your second infusion!!!!
