Ive done a lot of reading lately. I stay away from animal protein and I really run the other way if it is a milk protein like whey or casein (especially casein). I have been a pescetarian vegan now for about 1 year. I can't say I dont have gas or gas-related pain, but I haven't had much diarrhea. I have not had any surgery since two fistulas in 2003, and I had generally avoided red meat from that point on. But even now, eating mostly organic and vegan, I am definitely far from feeling "cured." So I am trying to figure out what else might help. Anyway, back to you, why not take a plant-based protein supplement! It doesn't carry the same risks as milk-protein supplements. I took a pea and brown rice protein formula when I was trying to build muscle. I think it was called "Vegan plus" and I got it from GNC. I liked it. It didn't taste that bad, especially if mixed with cranberry juice (sounds gross, but good). Oh, and Ditto to what Kanata said about Cliff bars!
