I cannot wait for summer to come (well it is pretty much already here for me). Another winter is gone and spring is now warming up. I cannot wait to enjoy the warm weather again. After spending a winter inside followed by several weeks in the hospital, the only thing I seem to have on my mind is going for a nice long bike ride in the sun :D.

Anyone have any plans yet for this summer? Anyone else lucky like us university students and get some time off?

I'm very excited as well. Last year, we went camping nearly every weekend and spent the week getting ready for the next. This year, we just bought a new travel trailer so it's going to be a lot easier to hit the road and opens up our options a bit.
I enjoy the long, sunny days.

Congrats on the new trailer danielle! Use it well!

I'm looking forward to no school and good times at my Summer job!

I'll be going into reverse hybernation...lol. I don't handle the heat very well. I much prefer winter.

As Mark Twain once said:

It's so hot in the south, you just want to take off your skin and lay around in your bones.

I'm more than ready!!! Alaska is beautiful, but the winters are so dang long! We are having beautiful weather, so it make is harder to teach school. I can't blame the kiddos for wanting to bounce off the walls.

Actually we have some halibut waiting here, David. My dad goes out fishing for several weeks at a time. My hubby is supposed to go out with him and my brother. I get seasick, or I'd go too. The Crohn's with seasickness ain't pretty! Nice grammar I know. Let me know where to send the halibut. :)

Wow! If Alaska wasn't so cold, I think I'd love it there. Salmon, halibut, and wilderness. What more does a man need?

IF you ever get one of those Halibut that you can't completely fit in your freezer, hit me up. I'd totally pay for you to ship me some AND for you to make a profit.

The tasty ones weigh about 80 lbs. and less. The very large halibut are females, the egg layers who have been around a while. I might have to send you some as a wedding gift.

The big ones are good for winning some prizes though. I'm not sure, but I think the all time record was around 900 lbs. That's a monster of a fish!

I also can't wait for summer. We've had some beautiful t-shirt weather here already, but I just love the sun! And I can't wait for my family holiday (me, boyfriend, mum, dad, gran, brother, niece, and 3 dogs, in 2 caravans on the Isle of Wight).

I'm definitely looking forward to summer! Our weather report for today is snow in the morning (it's snowing right now :( ), then sleet, then rain, then more sleet, and finally turning back into snow during the evening. Um, yeah, after a day like this I'm definitely looking forward to summer! (It's about 30 degrees out right now, and it was 85 degrees about 10 days ago - how wrong is that??)

All I can think about is heat, humidity, pollen, wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets, ants, snakes...ugh!!:( Please Autumn, come back sweetie!

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Im excited!!

no plans but to run around in flip flops and shorts and t-shirt :)

The heat has serious deleterious effects on my mental health... I am a wimp. We actually moved in to our current place because it can have air conditioning, but we are expected to rent the AC unit from our apartment complex for $90/month, which I think is insane. We'll see.

I used to think the heat and everything that comes with it made me flare, but it's been a rough winter so maybe I'm just looking for another reason to hate it.

That said I am really enjoying the increased sunlight and this is the first time I can remember kind of being excited for summer.

Diesanduhr, I feel your pain. The heat doesn't seem to affect me but the humidity kills my guts! Cramp city when it's too humid out. We had no air conditioning at all last summer, only fans. This year, we saved up our tax return and then some and invested in central air. It was just over $2000, so I really hope it's worth it! I try to look at it as an investment in feeling well. $90 per month just to rent an air conditioner (I'm assuming you have to pay for the electricity to run it too, right?) certainly does sound insane, what a racket.

Ooh I'm so jealous! Haha. But seriously, the heat really, really makes me so irritable/angry/depressed. In Seattle there's no AC basically anywhere because it's "never hot" which means when it actually is hot we all turn in to cranky ***holes. I hope the central air makes a big difference for you.

Thanks, I haven't yet had a chance to turn on but I'm really hoping it's worth the cost. I don't understand places that don't automatically install AC - even in the coldest areas (like Wisconsin!) it still gets warm in the summer. And in really warm places, they still have furnaces - we just visited my aunt in Arizona, and she said she's got a furnace. She hardly ever uses it, but she does turn it on (like 3 days a year, ha ha).

Gonna be busy this summer and :worthy: hope my crohns doesnt give me more grief than I can handle. Put off doing alot of stuff, I have to shape up for golfing and get back to getting painting done. Have a few visitors coming the summer, so less than 50 posts I am gone from here for the summer! I maybe back in October, so I am trying to look after me. :thumleft:

Yes, I will miss ya'll here but goodness knows I have typed my fingers to the bone :ylol:

I can't wait!!! :)
It's been an extremely long cold snowy winter.
August I'm off in search of the elusive muskie...
Can't wait to get one of those on my line...
and when I do you can bet there will be pics to follow! :thumleft:

I love the Summer holidays, 6 weeks off work but..............
I literally melt in the heat, cranky, headachy, sweat like a pig on heat, and me feet like 2 big blobby balloons, and worst of all....
me hair goes curly!

ha ha can they not?
Ok, but I still sweat (like a horse then) lol, I know they sweat after the Grand Nash!
