Wishful thinking or could it really be working?

It has been 10 days since my daughter stopped taking methotrexate and switched to Imuran. Is it possible it could already be starting to work?

D typically goes 11-14x a day, getting up 1x a night, not large quantity, mostly solid, but lots of pain even with all the meds in her system. In a last ditch effort before we start the referral with the new doc/hospital her current GI & I decided to drop the mtx & add Imuran, the only drug she hasn't tried that is approved here in Canada. Saturday she only went 6 times! Sunday was 8 (but she cheated & had some foods on the no list). Both nights no waking up overnight!

Could we finally have the right combination of meds or is it to early to be getting positive results & I am just wishfully thinking?

M has been on Imuran 12 days and had diarrhea and stomach cramps on and off for a couple of weeks before that. Now, she has no stomach pain and diarrhea rarely. Not sure if it could be working yet, but in any case, I'm so glad she's feeling a little better.

Just curious - what dose is your daughter on? M is on 75mg.

So glad to hear you daughter is a bit better. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed it continues!

Oh I hope so SM. Is she still improving? Imuran can take a while to become fully theraputic so I'm so hoping she just keeps getting better.

Not a lot of change, but still positive change. She is down to single digits using the bathroom which she hasn't been since diagnosis in 2012. Pain is decreasing but nothing that is close to 'normal'. I was just hoping it is the Imuran. She is having shortness of breath though which is concerning me. Any day that lets her sleep through the night &/or go less than 10x a day is a win in my book.
