My scope got off to a slow start...insurance and all. But once that was sorted out, I was finally taken upstairs and things got rolling. They had me in my gown w/IV with in about 20 minutes, at the most. I talked to the nurse, told her I was worried I would wake up. She told me even if I did, I most likely wouldn't remember much.
The dr. came in, IV sedation got started shortly there after. I just closed my eyes and thought "...time of rest...time of rest..." over and over again. Off I went. I indeed did wake up and look at the screen. I could feel the scope being moved, around the same time I woke up, but honestly it just felt like a water hose sliding in my hand...ok, maybe I was a little more tender than say my hand would have been. But it wasn't for long, maybe they gave me some more meds. I woke back up to my DH and son, talking with my DR. Only then to realize I was asking the same questions over and over again, LOL.
My scope turned up "Diverticula, scattered in the ascending colon" as well as in the sigmoid colon.
Plus DR. found one polyp in my appendiceal orifice, which was removed.
Internal/external hemm, removal recommended. (yeah me, more butt work!!)
