I usually have a BM every evening about half an hour after my dinner. This happens everyday except a few days ago I didn't go and I haven't been since. I can feel .. something in my tummy and I constantly feel like I need to go to the toilet and let it out, but every time I try, nothing comes out from that end. I get the odd day or so every few weeks where I get it but it is just one evening where I miss the BM and then carry on as normal the next day, but i've not been in days.

It's making me feel uncomfortable, constantly bloated (grandparents say I look 4 months gone), and feeling more sick than usual and in a lot more pain than usual. I've got even less energy than usual.

Of course I usually have pain and feel sick and get bloated after eating but because i've not had a BM in days, it's a lot worse and constant.

I have the doctors next week and am waiting for an appt with my GI.

I have taken some laxatives but they've not done anything.

I've been urinating more than usual - not sure if it's related or a coincidence.

Anyone got any ideas or is this just a new perk of IBD that i've only just discovered? I'm getting a bit worried about it because it's out of my 'normal' routine and it's making me more ill than usual.

Edit - Another way of describing it is it feels as though there is a pressure going on inside my bottom.. the one where I feel as though something is there but just can't get it out.

Also for the last few weeks when I have been having my 'normal' BM, the actual bum opening feels.. tighter than usual.. I don't know how to explain it. It feels all crackly and tighter and .. not sure. Argh!

Oh man the pain:(

If you're a few days constipated, please ring your GI for instructions on what he or she would like you to do. The time to act is now! If you haven't been too far down this road in the past, please take my word for it, and call your doc. Good luck, Tasha!

I would but my mum says not to bother because all it is, i've not poo'd for a few days. It's not life threatening, take some laxatives. I also don't have the number of my GI and it's the weekend so I can't call anyone but ER/A&E.

As sawdust says .. talk to a doctor better safe than sorry, could be more than just constipation.

you can call the doctor youself and make a appointment.

use the nhs line .. 0845 4647* thats the number ( inc * ) its there 24/7.

Oh as expected.. i'd write a post asking for advice and help and moan about the pain and when people have read the post my body thinks it's really funny to give me a BM and cause even more pain -.- yeah.. finally i'm having a BM.

Thanks both of you! I forgot about the NHS number actually!
