Would a Crohn's patient die if they got an STD?

Friend asked me if I ever have gotten an STD and kinda sparked a thought: would someone with Crohn's die if they got one? I mean, cause our immune systems are compromised already, then for those of you on Remicade and such, you must have to be really careful even with a cold!

Why would an STD be worse than any other type of virus or infection? Just curious. Maybe I am missing something...

Only if it were AIDS but even then there's still medication for that. Some of us may get sick more often but that's it.

Good point... I always just assumed STD's were a lot more serious. Guess just more serious in other factors like becoming infertile.

Would one even suffer from Crohn's symptoms if they had AIDS?

The complications from an STI would only be a major issue if the infection was acquired via anal sex, and even then it would depend on the actual STI. If that was the source of infection it may be harder to diagnose (gonorrhoea, syphilis, possibly herpes), but treatment would be the same.
