I finally heard from my doctor today...no Crohn's meds for me! My bloodwork came back all good except for low B12 and a touch anemic (quelle surprise, with all the blood they keep taking from me!). So, suppliments for now and hopefully I'll stay symptom free for a long time :)

Now I just have to figure out when I want to have surgery again to remove the rest of my intestine and rectum. But that won't be for a while.

Thanks everyone for all your support and advice. You guys rock!

Cindy

That is a Crohnies dream to not be on meds, I am trying... I dont envy the surgery part, but who knows, maybe it wont be for a long time!

My doctor says I have up to 2 years to get it done, just in case I change my mind and want to have the colostomy reversed. After that, the chance of cancer go waaaay up. So I'm thinking sooner is better than later. But, maybe I should completely heal from the last surgery before I think about the next one...lol

whoohoo!

You seem pretty happy with the present situation. I hope it is ok if I ask; Do you have an internal pouch?

Yay! I love happy news. Resting up is good - but I also agree that taking care of things sooner rather than later is probably best.

@kenny...I'm not sure what you mean by an internal pouch. I'm guessing if I don't know what it is, I don't have one...lol

Great news Nyx!

Best of luck with your good health! ENJOY!

I'll let you know...but so far, it's still falling out...sigh

Cindy, I am so happy for you. I know what its like to not have to take meds. I was lucky enough to have about 8-10 years without anything but pepcid. It was great. I hope you have a long time without also.
