I went to see a new doctor today. Over the weekend I felt the need to completely overhaul my diet. I was led to Dr. McDougall's elimination diet. Last night I was visiting with some friends at book club and one was the wife of the doctor and the other singing his praises. I had always wanted to see him but he is more of an alternative type and usually insurance doesn't cover that. I called and sure enough since he is a Family Practice MD my insurance covered him. WOHOO! I called and they had a cancelation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent at least an hour with him!!! I mean one on one him talking me from BIRTH to Current! He was pulling things out of me I didn't think were relevant. They WERE!!! So I left the clinic 2.5hrs after getting there with a plan! I had my blood tested (CBC, thyroid, ACL?? blood sugar etc) and allergy testing done!

My list of allergens are
Cheese
Egg
Cow Milk (goat okay)
banana
tomato
barley
corn
Rye
Spelt
wheat
gluten
peanuts
corn syrup
lactose
fructose
bell pepper
onion (GASP!!)
White potato
soy
caffeine
chocolate
equal

Now, they say after eliminating them for a while I can possibly add some back in.

No wonder my gut is not happy!!! Also, I am going to begin a Yeast control diet. It is amazing what too much yeast does to a body!!! So I am over laden in yeast. This was obvious from female issues over the years, infection on my tongue, plantar warts, athlete foot type stuff and dandruff. Yeast can act like an estrogen and mess up all the hormones. Everything I suffer from can be linked to yeast!

I hope getting that under control and avoiding foods that make me yucky (most I had no clue about!) I will be in remission forever. ;)

Anyone have an experience like this?

Yes. A doc once told me to consider anything with yeast in it as something that will bloat the yeast inside of me. After eating it, I did realize that it was not agreeing with me. It is amazing, as you go through your journey, how much you realize foods have an affect on your body. Probiotics will certainly help you as well.

yes...probitoics are being taken. YAY! I have felt amazing today. It is like night and day from yesterday. I don't know if it is diet or if the prednisone is kicking in. I like it what ever it is!!!
