Youth Rally is a fabulous program for adolescents with bowel/bladder diseases. It's goal is to help them become self-sufficient and independent while cutting through the isolation and alienation kids with these disorders often feel.
It is held on a college campus in different parts of the country each year. This year it will be in Seattle, Washington.
Children ages 11-17 with bladder or bowel dysfunction are eligible to attend the Youth Rally. Examples of procedures or surgeries may include:
Ileostomy
Colostomy
Urostomy
Ace/Malone (Appendicostomy)
Self Catheterization
Bowel Management
J-Pouch or other continent diversion
but youth with Crohn's and UC may be eligible to attend even if they have not had one of these procedures.
