Clash hit the nail on the head. It also sounds like you have an excellent doctor who is monitoring disease state very intelligently. As Clash said, smoldering inflammation is very bad and your doctor is smart enough to know that. I think your daughter is in very good hands!

Those of you with fatigue, be sure to have your B12 level tested if you haven't. B12 deficiency is one of if not the most common cause of fatigue in people with Crohn's disease and is a very easy fix.

Welcome to the community. While you've been diagnosed at 51, based upon what you described, I suspect you've had active Crohn's for quite awhile. I hope the Remicade and surgery put you in a fast remission! I wish you all the best.

I agree with Ron. Untreated IBD is a very scary thing in my opinion.

There's nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion.
