    I cried!

Snap, we've all been there. I sure as hell know I have, and it does get easier! At first I couldnt even face changing my stuff. And when I did, i wasn't sure of how to do things, or how to react if it started spurting. A few times I got really worked up and would start throwing things around the...

    Hello.. Again... :)

Thanks :0 yeah I made a claim with the CICA but it's been a long time since i've heard anything, although i was told it can take a year if not longer to get that sorted. I'm also pursuing the possibilty of taking civil action aswell, although I'm now having doubts because i feel i would just be...

    Metal clip/staple in stoma

Bit of a weird one this, But when i was changing my appliance yesterday and cleaning, at the edge of my stoma, not actually on the stoma itself but the very edge of the skin if that makes sense, i saw what looked like a tiny peice of metal pretuding out, almost as if it was some sort of clip or...

    Hello.. Again... :)

I asked the police about a restraining order yesterday when they phoned me. The policemen pretty much dismissed having a restraining order against them saying that there is no real reason to believe i need one...as he doesn't feel they are the type of people who would come looking for me so to...

    Hello.. Again... :)

Thanks for all the messages, Jessi. I woke up and read that article in the local paper this morning and felt quite annoyed in all honesty, their claims that i "fell" down some stairs drunkenly, that i ran over to a big burly doorman with a bottle... and that one of them didnt punch me at all...

    Hello.. Again... :)

It is with a lot of mixed emotion that i write this, And the last week has been horrible, It has brought things back to the surface that I had effectively moved on from, only for them to start haunting me once more. I gave my evidence in court and came out after being cross examined feeling like...

I love milk! and drink it every day! although now only in small amounts as it doesnt seem to do much good for my ileostomy. I cant wait to have it reversed and just sit with a bottle of the stuff and gulp away! haha

    Stoma rashes

I'd say the same as what previous posters have already said. When i first had my ileostomy I had no adhesive remover... which made taking the bag of very painfull and that in itself will break and irritate the skin.. i had no powder and no barrier rings. How often do you change your appliance...

Mine does bleed a little bit, and my mucus fistula bleeds quite a bit to if i am too rough when i clean that. but it eventually just stops on its own. If i pat it and try and stop it with pressure i just make it worse.

What religion do you identify with, if any?

I was brought up as a Christian going to a Church of England school, but since i left school I'd say i've become pretty passive with religion. I Don't particularly believe in God, but I guess to some extent I do believe in the bible, in that what I think it teaches is good. I.E It teaches us how...

It's just IBS. It's just depression. Maybe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

A day before I was admitted into hospital with a really bad flare up as i was in the process of being diagnosed, one of my symptoms was ridiculous mouth ulcers which a doctor who I saw diagnosed as Oral thrush. I was so ill and thats all he could come up with. Have refused to see that doctor...

Do you get used to vomiting?

I dont know if you can get used to it. You just sort of learn to sort of deal with it and know when its coming. Earlier this year I had C-Diff, and was vomiting 20 times a day if not more and it was horrible. They tried putting an NG tube in me to try and calm it down but i just ended up puking...

Do your emotions affect your health?

I wouldn't go as far as saying having a positive attitude will make your ill health go away, but in my experience, it is at times of real stress/depression that seem to have brought on my worst flares. But being happy doesn't make it go away. I'm not sure if theres been any studies done to...

    You don't look sick.

Someone said this to me just the other night at a new years eve party, Someone I'd never met before, the wife of an old work colleague asking how i was. So i explained a little about what had happened over the past year "oh but you look really well", and her husband also commented on the massive...
