Trying To Conceive (TTC) Support Group

That's fantastic news Nicola I am so glad you and baby are doing really well. Have you started shopping for girly things yet? I would love to have a little girl and know so many names that I like but for a boy I would be stuck lol.

Trying To Conceive (TTC) Support Group

Sorry you haven't had a reply sooner I have tryed to switch myself off recently from the TTC thing as it got a bit intense. There is no way of telling if you will stay well or if pregnancy will cause a flare and I have read people having different experiences with each pregnancy. I know that...

Skin tag keeps bleeding worse, should i try to get it removed?

Are you sure the blood is coming from the skin tag? I have had a lot of problems with skin tags but never bleeding directly from them. I have had fissures around them which have bled. I second that you need to speak to your dr about the bleeding especially if you think it's getting worse and...

    Back to square one!!!!!

You can ask to see a different dr with the nhs it shouldn't be a problem if to mention it to your GP. So you had been taking steroids when the colonoscopy was done? Maybe this could have masked the inflammation and they weren't able to tell because of it. Are you still on steroids now?

Dr. says I'm not a good candidate for surgery?

I had an appointment yesterday and my dr brought up surgery I also have crohn's colitis and is spread all the way through my colon but he thinks it is unlikely I have inflammation in my small intestine so surgery may work. He said I would have to have my whole colon removed and have a permanent...

Huge increase in Crohn's hospital admissions

I am so glad others feel the same as me about this, I read the article this morning and it really upset me. I have just been onto the bbc website and complained about it. Like we all don't face enough judgement from others without adding this

Huge increase in Crohn's hospital admissions

I read the article and watched it on the news and the junk food thing really annoyed me. I think with any illness if you eat a lot of junk food of course it will impact your health negatively.

Advice on colorectal surgeon on nhs/private

I think you should see another GP if they won't refer you before being diagnosed I saw 4/5 different Drs before being refered to a GI. You may struggle getting private cover if you have been diagnosed with crohns already as they consider it part of the same condition. I tried looking into it a...

    Delayed Ovulation?

If it's only been a couple of months and you have been really sick it could be just sending it a bit out of whack. Hopefully when you start your new medication it will get things under control and in a better pattern.

    Delayed Ovulation?

Are your cycles always the same? I think if it is something that seems to be happening a lot to mention it to your GP and see if they will look into it a bit more for you.

    Humira injection with syringe

I would have thought the humira syringe would be smaller as it is only subcutaneous wher the vitamin b12 is intramuscular. I now use the shrine for cimzia and much prefer it over pens I no longer dread having to do them. Hope it all goes well for you x

Conceiving with Crohns anyone to join me?

Emilyck my GI generally looks at my crp as one of the guides of how my disease is mine is always slightly raised but I am still having some symptoms so I guess I am not in deep remission. Hopefully it is just an infection or virus that is causing your crp to be raised and that next blood test it...

Reassurance required. I feel TRULY DAFT!

It's ok to be scared its something that no one really wants I do. I have to say the prep was the worst part for me, I had the sedation and I remember nothing I was so out of it so all of the worry I had was for nothing. Sending you hugs, you can do it!

What Is The Health Care Situation in Scotland??

I am not in Scotland but healthcare for the uk comes under the NHS. I found this link http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/uk-visitors/Pages/accessing-nhs-services.aspx It's got a lot of info on there about qualifying for free health care and it seems it would depend on your visa...

Any help for swollen sore joints?

I have had lots of problems with joint pain and swelling and it is still my main problem even if my stomach seems to be behaving. Could you convince your GI or another dr to get an appointment with a rheumatologist? They would be the best to speak to and hopefully they could get something that...

Conceiving with Crohns anyone to join me?

Have you been sick or do you think you have an infection? This can make your crp shoot up really quickly. I have had UTI's before and I have no symptoms at all I just feel a bit tired and not right. Have they given you a repeat blood test?

Help? Very very high ALP results? Scared for my son

Has the dr ordered a repeat blood test? Sometimes it can just resolve itself after a while with no explanation of why it raises so high. Also Alp can come from bone so if he is going through a growth spurt it can make it higher. Wishing you both all the best and hope this is just a little blip.

    IBD nurses

I see a fantastic IBD nurse at the hospital she is very knowledgable and really caring. It feels like she really wants to listen to everything you have to say and I have never felt rushed by her. Last year when I was having problems with the rheumatology team looking after me she stood in my...

Conceiving with Crohns anyone to join me?

Hope it all goes well with the scope and they can get you on your way to feeling better and getting a positive. I'm also on cimzia and it seems to just be holding off the worst of it just trying to hold out as I don't have any other safe options whilst TTC.
