    Bloodwork Results

My Dr ordered bloodwork to establish a baseline as I just started on Imuran. The one flag that came back from the bloodwork was very low MCHC....from what I could find, is it means anemia. Is this a big deal? I see my Dr on Wednesday but in the interim I am curious :)

Yup, Dr extended prednisone with the addition of Imuran.....cautiously opptimistic :-/

    New to Imuran

That is the frustrating part. I really hate being bounced around. I really dislike my GI also maybe he knows how I feel lol

    New to Imuran

This has probably been asked a gazzilion times (sorry). My GI suggested I start Imuran once I taper off of prednisone. He said my GP can prescribe it. I hate the bounce around. I have done some research, Google and the forum, and was wondering did you taper off of prednisone prior to...

    Sick Leave Issue

Writing a letter to HR is a great idea. I will definately do that. I am also researching tools for my toolbox so that my coping mechanisms are in place upon my return. Any suggestions for tools?

    Sick Leave Issue

Hi all, just a bit of background, I work in a male dominated industry as a manager of many teams. I admit I do have high expectations of myself and team members because at the end of the day I am ultimately responsible to deliver multiple projects successfully. Two weeks ago, I got called out...

    Soooooo Confused and frustrated

Thank you so much for your responses. I am 45 and do not have the shoulder pain, jaw pain or any other pain above the belly that is seen with PMR hence my skepticism. If the last part of the ilieum cannot be biopsies but can be seen on the scan, is it still possible to have Crohn's? I see my...

    Soooooo Confused and frustrated

Saw my GI yesterday again as I have been in a flare for two weeks (second one since April). One Dr says I have ileitis found via iv cat scan (narrowing of the ilieum) and another says I don't after scopes and biopsies. I present with many symptoms: Deep seated pain on right side (pain comes in...

    Mini-vents

Need to vent: Saw my Dr today again as I have been in a flare for two weeks. One Dr says I have ileitis found via iv cat scan and another says I don't after scopes and biopsies. I present with many symptoms but no relief insight. Grasping at straws for some help. Can a person have ileitis...

    Dairy Free & Lactaid

No, I was tested 6 ways from Sunday for corhn's and colitis just for him to tell me I have narrowing of the ilieum...then he suggested to continue on my Celiac diet and omit dairy....so whatever that all means is a mystery to me.

    Thanks, I will get clarification:)

    Dairy Free & Lactaid

Thanks for the info....I guess the next question for me is: Does taking something like lactaid and eating dairy mean I am not dairy free? Is there something else in dairy that exacerbates crohns?

    Dairy Free & Lactaid

My GI recommended I go dairy free. I love cheese and yogurt but do not drink milk. If I take Lactaid, does that mean I can still enjoy cheese and yogurt will trying to maintain a dairy free diet? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance for helping me out

    Food Confusion

Thank you all so much!!! Perspective, food diary and getting used to eating the same things day in and day out because they don't upset my apple cart <wink> sounds like the best plan. I don't believe in elimination diets either and that is what a lot of these are. Hence the question from...

    Food Confusion

I am struggling, I have read about SCD, FODMAP, Paleo etc.....how do I decider this with Crohn's? Is it none of the above? Please help....

    Confused

Thank you for the replies. My GI said he biopsied the tissue in the ileum and it was "healthy" yet I have read that although it may be healthy, narrowing is a sign of mild to moderate Crohn's....how can I be sure definitively without going through all the tests again with a new GI? The tests...

    Confused

G'day and happy Friday :) I met with my GI on Wednesday and am trying to understand my test results. I had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, a crazy amount of blood and stool tests and a barium CT scan. All the results are in and my GI stated I have a narrowing of the terminal ileum but all other...

Second trip to emerg in one week

Hi all, I am still undiagnosed. I have now gone to emerg twice in one week. My blood work came back normal yesterday. Still waiting on stool sample tests. The pain was excruciating hence the trip to emerg. I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy performed yesterday with biopsies. By all visual accounts...
