I have been on Entocort several times. I prefer it to Predinose, as there are few side effects. To me the Prednisone works faster and you feel better quicker, but I have a hard time with some of the side effects.

I would rather take Entocort as well. I haven't been on it in a while but I don't remember there being too many side effects.

I've tried entocort twice, maybe even three times. I never noticed anything from it, either good or bad. Unlike prednisone, which I definitely notice, both good and bad lol

Im on it right now. Im weaning off of prednisone right now too. I haven't noticed any difference good or bad with entocort. No new side effects either.

I was on Entocort for a while, and never had anything really come of being on it...besides terrible headaches. Ive been on Prednisone and weaning off it now and I would perfer Pred over Entocort. Pred has bad side effects but its really helped my Crohns. And I would rather have bad side effects for the meds to work, then them not work at all.

I'm on Entocort right now as well and I'm actually in the process of switching to pred because it's not doing anything for me. It is actually better to be on Entocort than prednisone (if it works ofcourse) because it is topical, which means it only acts directly on the infamed site rather than travelling through the bloodstream (which is what prednisone does). This is why you experience less side effects with Entocort than prednisone. However, everyone is different and since it is still a form of steroid you could still experience the same side effects you do with prednisone - or even different ones! I hope it works for you

I far, far prefer Entocort to Prednisone. No anger, no high blood pressure (stroke risk!), less hunger and weight gain. Also, it actually works for me (Prednisone does not)! Entocort makes me super anxious, but I deal with that the best I can.

Hope it works well for you!

I was on pred and it helped but when I went off I flared again almost right away. GI switched to entocort and I've had a good year of remission since. I didn't experience that much in way of side effects from pred, and don't remember any with the entocort.

Good luck and hang in there!

I've just come off Entocort today. I didn't have too many side effects from it but it did take 4 weeks for me to feel any benefit from it. When I was on pred it took 3 days to feel the benefit so there can be a big difference.
I hope you get some benefits from it soon!

I was on Entocort when i was diagnosed, as i understand its a weaker type of steroid somehow, doctors prefer it because of lesser side effects and doesnt really need weaning off as much as prednisone.
