4 days till surgery, I am crapping myself (for the last time I guess lol)

Hey guys.

soooo... Four days to my operation.
(getting large intestine and about 30cm of ileum removed! Eeeep.

I met another ostomate today and she was really lovely and laid back about everything! She had the same operation as me but I am getting some ileum removed also. Gave me some good advice.

I am about to pack all my stuff.. I loaded my iPad up with books and videos and music.. This all feels a bit unreal really....
I am really excited and really scared at the same time!
Anyway I just wanted to let you guys know you have really helped me learn and grow to accept getting a stoma and I have become slightly obsessed with this forum! Thanks so much guys
anyway I'll update on here when I am out of surgery and capable, and I will tell you all how it went.

Now im off to pack! And watch some funny tv programs while I can! Haha

Thanks everyone. I had a CT scan today and my terminal ileum is soooooooooo thick I don't know how anything gets thru. I also saw the surgeon and the stoma nurse who marked the spot on me. The surgeon is lovely and he told me all about the op. The fistulas are going to be cut open and left to heal on thier own and my bum will be barbie butt! Lol if barbie had a fat cousin maybe.. Lol.

God that stuff they make you drink for the ct scan made me siiick. Owies.

Anyway... One more nervous night and then tomorrow night I'll be all done!

I'm last on the list so I'll be operated on at 5pm. Fun

Good Luck Charlotte. Wishing you well for your op. Would love to hear how you get on and how you coped with your recovery. I am due to have my operation on 6 July by Keyhole surgery providing I can still keep down a little food otherwise I will have to have open surgery and a stoma. God Bless.
