Biggest complaint over the last few days is a stomach ache right about bed time. I suspect food blockage bc she woofed down her pizza and finished before I sat down to the table. Ugh I was so mad. She was very distended the last two nights before bed, but distention is gone in the morning. I gave her her Lopermide yesterday. Decided to skip it today bc of what I suspect. She has gone about 4 times today and it is liquid and yellow. Usually it is applesauce like and very brown with 1 dose of Lopermide daily. Do you think I should lay of Lopermide even though she is having liquid BMs again? For how long? I don't want her to get butt burn.

Her norm is 5-6 bm's daily and sleeps through the night. She is 5 months post takedown.

I wonder how to get her to eat small bites?! She could have some scar tissue causing issues?

I dont know that I'd have her off the Lopermide for more than a short time if possible.

Would they see the scar tissue in a scope? They scoped her a month ago went through to old stoma sight. She seems ok today I will give her some Lopermide tonight or after she gets home from school. She is usually good about not pigging out. Dinner usually takes us forever bc she is a talker, I have to remind her eat some food 100 times. Pizza is her all time favorite. I cut everything up into small pieces.

 Yes, they should see the scar tissue in a scope. Lets just hope it was the wolfing it down with the pizza. I'm sure it was just that.

She sounds like such a wonderful little girl, and pizza is one of my favorite foods too! Which reminds me....was there mushrooms on that pizza? Sometimes mushrooms dont like us.

Have you tried the ileostomy association? The ileostomy and internal pouch support group. Www.iasupport.org. There are great people on there who have a wealth of information. Xxx

I got a few posts out there on a few different sites. I am keeping her off the Lopermide today still. She is 5lbs heavier than 2 days ago. So I am thinking she might be full of poo.

Nope hasn't complained since I stopped Lopermide. She really fluctuates a lot on the scale. It is kinda crazy. One day 42lbs 48lbs two days later. Kinda crazy. I has been doing this weird fluctuation ever since takedown. I thought I was crazy but other j-pouchers assured me it was normal. Our new normal that is.

Okay.. good deal then. I fluctuate 2 pounds every couple of days with my ileo, but seeing as I'm an adult, on a child it sounded scary to me.

Weight is holding at 47.5 now for three days. Kept her off Loerpmide since Monday. She got up twice last night and it was pure liquid yellow. Indicating poor digestion. Gave her a dose of Loperamide at 3am, belly ache is back today after eating lunch she was fine in the morning after breakfast. Does this even make sense or do you think it could just be food related? So worried I got a call into the clinic nurse. She is laying in bed with her trusty heating pad which hasn't been out of the closet since before her colectomy. This is bring back some very scary memories for me. My ptsd has kicked back in and I am totally paranoid again. :yfrown:

Ill be pushing all liquids today. Anther Peptamen Jr and extra hydrating water.

I think partial obstruction, all the classic symptoms, gas, abdominal pains, belching, bloating, belly distention, quick to be full at meals. Idk I think 24 hours of liquids and only soft foods. They called me in some Cipro but I am very hesitant bc I don't think this is pouchitis even though the clinic nurse does. She was wrong before. I will give it a couple more days.:ybatty:

I think it sounds like a partial obstruction as well (which is why I asked about mushrooms).

But I would want a Dr to tell me it was pouchitis, not a clinic nurse. I suppose the Cipro would be good to have on hand. Can you see the Dr with her soon?

I can't offer any advise, I don't know very much about these meds or her condition but when I read your post my heart felt very heavy for you, your daughter and what you and your precious daugter are going through. My son suffered partial obstructions prior to his surgery and used his heating pad and stuck to fluids for a couple days until the blockage passed. It's very hard and painful to watch our children struggle with this terrible disease :yfrown:

Sending lots of hugz, thoughts and prayers to you both!!!!!
