9 Yrs with crohns

hi everyone my name is tricia and i've had crohns for 9 years now and im currently on remicade treatment... I've been on it for a year now and still nothing new... Only yesterday i was with my gp and then the care doc and now im back on steroids... Im so frustrated and just want to get some opinions on how other ppl that are on the same treatment are dealing with it...

Welcome Tricia. Sorry the Remicade isn't helping. This is a good place to vent frustration.

Hi Tricia:

It's too bad the Remicade didn't work---it didn't work for me either! Are the steroids helping? Usually, they keep you on Prednisone for a while and then introduce another drug. Have your doctor's talked to you about Humira or Imuran? After failing Remicade, I was put on Humira. And my GI had started me on Imuran while I was taking steroids (Imuran can take a while to start working) so that he could taper me off the Pred.

I hope the steroids offer you some relief---trying to cope with this disease and finding a medication that works is really really frustrating!

hey no the steroids aint working as i have been on them too long and the effect just goes too quick. hoping to get news of the operation friday so fingers crossed ill get good news
