So i just went to see the doc today about my crohns as it was our first meeting since the diagnosis by my colo/rectal doc and asked him if he would be willing to sign a Medical Marijuana authorization for me and he agreed so i will be keeping an updated log on here about the process. I am going with a designated grower a friend who lives just a few blocks from my house. Anyway its late and im beat but intend to keep all up to date on my process.

I have my initial consultation with my new GI of Friday, I was going to approach my old GI at my last appointment however he informed me that he was no longer seeing GI patients and focusing on the liver.
i'm hoping my new guy is as receptive as your doc.

Best of luck vonfunk. I went into my appointment prepared there is some good info out there on MedicalMarijuan.ca if your new GI doc is a no go they offer to help find a compassionate doctor. There have been several studies done in Europe in the last 3-5 years showing there is definite benefit for crohn's sufferers they show that cannabidiol helps not only with regrowth of damaged gut lining bet helps it to regrow with a tighter cellular structure. The best advice i can give is be honest about how it helps and what ever you do tell them you plan on eating the marijuana and that you would never smoke it. If you need any more info or advice please check back here or PM me I don't have all the answerers yet but ill do my best to find out what i can for anyone that needs help getting access.

Regards,
Bradon

I've read the studies, I'm set on the information front, I've got my compassion club membership, it"s really about making it legal, I plan on using it anyway, and as. Patient it is my right to dictate my therapy.

Bradon do you have a link to those studies done in Europe? If so can you send it to me? I am also in the process of trying to find a doctor willing to prescribe it for me. Thanks.

Eric

I didn't think Crohns was applicable under Canadian rules, is it only after unsuccesful treatments it's allowed in severe cases?

You can get it for Crohn's but only if your specialist is willing to fill out the paperwork. There is the tier one, which is a limited list and the second tier in which you can get it for anything, it just requires a lot more hoops to jump through.

Thank's Vonfunk, bet my GI is the one that will insist Remicade is the only way...bet he gets a research grant from them...
and I think thats where the problem lies in alternative medicines...no money kicked back for research...big pharmacy has all kinds...

just another question, for second tier does the Doc have to fill out all the forms or do you still download and do the one they supply on the website?

All of the forms are online. I think but it's a different set of forms. I just never bothered. Once my colon comes out I'll be "cured", so I wouldn't qualify anyway.

In the mean time get connected with a compassion club. You should qualify with Crohn's.

No one with a legit medical condition who has fought the charges has been convicted in Canada, and those who have had the charges overturned.

Thank's I did find them after a search...I'm good right now, wonder if it wa Crohns or if the docs jumped to a conclusion.....no tests just visual.

Curious - how many plants can your grower grow for you?

I'm canadian too, and with a dispensary a block from my place i don't need a grower, but just wondering.

Crankypants. The amount of plants your aloud to grow is based on how many grams a month your aloud to have. I forget what the ratio is but I remember seeing a calculator for it somewhere

I didn't have any problems getting my mmar
But to put the doc more at ease with it I got him to sign a release forum that says he's not responsible for anything bad that may come from it..

I find that rather stupid since they give me all the opiates I want. But what can ya do
