Hey guys I am new to this site - but not to crohns. I just thought I would give u all a tip that has saved my bum hole a lot of grief!!! I use baby wipe on them or wet wipes they may be called over there. Anyway don't be afraid of using them as I now never use toilet paper (for number 1 OR 2). Think of toilet paper as sandpaper rubbing and making your bum raw and tender.

A lot of u probably already know this but I thought I would tell those who didn't. It's saved me a lot of grief! Trust me.

It's basically heaven in a tube. It's a cream that keeps the poo and urine I suppose... off of your tushy. But it also has menthol in it and other things that soothe and calm butt skin irritations from pooing so much. Like when your butt is on fire... it puts it right out!

If you have a septic tank, make sure the things are septic safe, otherwise you may be calling someone to get the things out of your septic system. They get wrapped around the aerator and keeps it from functioning properly. Yes, I've experienced it first hand. Thankfully my Dad knew how to fix it and when the buzzer kicks I have to go out and clear the aerator....yep, it's a crappy job.....

Don't forget you can buy flushable wipes too.

I use wipes the whole time -- baby wipes at home, and I buy the ones that come in individual sachets for when I'm out and about. I used to get those small packets (20 or so) of Wet Ones but found that the packet doesn't completely seal after the first use, so when you're travelling or out shopping, etc., the little single sachets are excellent.

Jiriji, a little off topic here but I love your avatar!

I also have flushable wipes stored in my bathroom, I tend to buy the toddler ones as they're the cheapest and smell quite nice too. I believe I have ones which are apple and berry scented at the moment ha ha.

I don't have any Calmoseptine as I live in the UK, could order off Amazon but haven't got round to it. I just use calamine cream for irritation for now.

still not sure how it keeps the poo and urine off your butt? are you saying if u have an accident it doesnt stick? its a shield against poo?

Calmoseptine is the most wonderful thing out there. I tried baby wipes. Lidoderm cream with cortisone. Also anything else I could find, but now I sing praises of calmoseptine. I even turned my mom and several of my family members on to it.
My mom is 92 and she gets scalded in the groin area for she wears diapers ( she calls them her paper drawers) and the combo of urine and sweat in this area it has calmed down her scalding red areas to no redness at all. Miracle huh!
