Hi guys sorry if it's too much information I normally have blood on the toilet paper when I go for a bm but twice in the last week when I have passed a bm it has been pure blood in the toilet more than the stool and its been quite a deep red colour and quite thick if that makes sense.
I'm used to having some blood when going but I have never experienced the whole toilet being covered.

I am seeing my GI on Thursday to get the results from my MRI scan this week but this has been troubling me with the amount.

Thanks for listening

I suffered from a lot of blood in my stool, and it turned out I had perianal crohn's disease - with the disease at my tail end.
do you have any other symptoms? pain? etc.
x

I've not been having a lot of pain lately well constant pain it seems to come and go. I just had an MRI on Friday 14 weeks after being referred for it as I was in utter agony. I do think I have a tear at the tail end but I've never seen this amount of blood before. I've been feeling better this last week considering I have another 3 weeks to go until my next infliximab infusion.
I have been feeling quite sick lately and lethargic but not as bad as I have been in the last few weeks.

It's the amount of blood that's concerning me I'm getting my blood done on tuesday then seeing GI on Thursday and he should have my MRI results to.

Sometimes blood can look horrendous. I've had times where it looks like it's literally filling the toilet bowl (TMI).
I would try not to worry until you've seen your GI, it can be very hard to guess what they'll say. I know out of all my symptoms I found the blood the scariest, but it was the one my GI was least concerned about :) x

I know what you mean it's always seems concerning with the amount of blood and they alway say if it gets worse then go back and see them. I have a busy week at work so hopefully it will take my mind off things, thanks

Yes I know, it is worrying - especially when things get worse. But I'm sure you'll be okay. Do let me know what they say & how it goes. X

no advice really except any high temps or unbearable pain got to a n e . other than that all i can offer is big hugs let us know what they say on thurs xx

Hi guys sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, I saw my GI last Thursday he advise I'd have some inflammation and thickening but nothing major to worry about. I have a few adhesions from my last surgery which he thinks is causing my pain, he mentioned looping of the bowel but I'm not sure what that is.

My tail end was extremely inflamed when he did the colonoscopy in August so he understands why I'm bleeding so much but I'm still concerned about it as I'm feeling really light headed and drained with it now. Seeing the gastro nurse on Thursday so will address it with her as well.

My throat has been in agony for the last week and I'm finding it so hard to swallow just now it sucks cause I'm so thirsty. I had my tonsils out in January I thought that was meant to help!!
Thanks for listening to me x

Did he do any blood work? Anemia could be a concern - any shortness of breath, headaches, tingling in hands/feet? If they persist, make sure you mention it to your nurse. If it gets worse, head to the ER.

He never mentioned anaemia although I have been borderline twice. I get fit b12 injections 3 monthly and only had it a couple weeks ago. Will speak to the gastro nurse about bringing the infusions forward he's been discussing it for over a year and every time I get round the 5/6 week mark my symptoms gradually increase then I have to build myself back up once I've received it it's so frustrating. Will keep an eye on things thank you

HOnestly, with the amount of blood you are describing, I would head to the ER. (A&E?) because it sounds like you are loosing a lot of blood and that can be very dangerous.
Like Shammrock asked, do you have any pain in your extremities? Tingling in your fingers or toes?

No tingling I have a little bit of pain but nothing out of the ordinary I just don't feel right a d feel like I'm at square one since the MRI was ok and he's not concerned confused.com!

Unless you are a menstruating female, bleeding anywhere is not ok. And if there is more blood than stool in the toilet, something is wrong. I know going to the emergency room is a pain, and even if they send you home right away, its better to be safe than sorry.

Hey just back from my appointment she has taken my bloods and going to check if I am anemic if I am even borderline she will get me in for an iron infusion ASAP. She thinks I have an infection at the tail end with all the blood and has given me an anti biotic suppository and a steroid one to see if it helps and I will go back in 2 weeks for a follow up.
Thanks for all your support.

She thinks the constant hot flushes may possibly be early menopause caused by the infliximab I have to try a couple of natural remedies and they may do a hormones
Test to check things out.
