Abscess número dos

Ok so I have another perianal abscess! This one on the opposite side of where my fistula with draining seton live.

Just finished a sitz bath and was checking it when it...exploded. Will call doctor promptly in the am. I had inflammation in the same spot that went away after a few days a couple of months ago. When I had that one I went running to CR surgeon and it turned out to be a false alarm. It was like a little bee bee under the skin that just sort of went away.

I thought that this might be the same thing so I wanted to ride it out a couple days. Looks like I was wrong. Hope I don't have to go under the knife again :( maybe its just a pimple from hell that happens to be right across from my fistula???

/sigh

Oh noooooooooooo! Just what you don't need :-( If it is another one, I'm wondering if it's time to discuss a stronger med to fight them and hopefully stop them forming? Let us know how you get on at the doc's.

Thank you! Spoke with GI today and have appointment with him on Monday. He put me on cipro. Monday we are having a serious talk about remicade. I'm ready to dive in. Started noticing stool in my vaginal area again today. And the inflammation is just terrible right now overall. I'm ready for some relief and am hoping remicade will provide it.

I know I have said this a few times on this site but I am trying to help others not go through what I did.My oncologist told me that all the abscess's (PERIANAL)that I have had over the years caused by crohn's disease is what caused my anal cancer. Please take them seriously and see your Dr.about them, they can have a serious effect on your health.

Thank you Debbie and Helen. Today my doctor and I made the decision to start humira. I should get my first dose in the next couple weeks after insurance sorts out. Looking forward to hopefully reaching a remission and healing my fistula/clearing other abscess issues I'm having.

Thanks all for your support!

I hope you get some relief from the Humira! I have only had one, relatively small anal abscess, but it was the worst pain I think I have ever felt. A second one would have put me in a soft padded room! I have been very medication resistant, but i told me GI that if the anal abscess returned, that i would be ready for mediation.

I do hope you get some relief...FAST!!

Go for the humira. Had surgery a couple months ago for setons and did humira three weeks ago. Finally these last few days I am getting some relief and the pain I've had for so long is going away day by day. Downside is that I've had to take Levaquin antibiotics ever since the surgery and nowadays it's really getting to me. Can't quit it for another month or so to ensure it heals.
