Hi there everyone brand new to the forum. To make a long story short I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Proctitis in 2014 after an abscess which resulted in a 4 day hospital stay. Over the years it has been well controlled with Lialda and have been told that it is a mild case. Now to the current I just had surgery for a Pilonidal Cyst last week. A few days before the surgery I noticed a lump in the same area as when I had an abscess in 2014. I used a compress on it it seemed to go away partially Before the surgery I told the General Surgeon about it and he said while he was removing the cyst he would probe to see if there was a fistula and a abscess. Well the surgery went well and he said that when he probed he did find a fistula and a small abscess was present. Fast forward to today the abscess has gotten worse and there are two heads on it I still dont have any fever. I do have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow to check on the healing process for my surgery. He did say he was aprehensive about doing anything because of my ongoing problem with my pilionidal area. Should I have it lanced or hold out until I can get an appointment with a colorectal surgeon? As I dont want to end up in the hospital over this again.:sign0085:
