Ok i have had crohns disease for about 8 or 9 years now, today i had a colonoscopy aand everything low checked out ok (started remicade several months ago) but everytime i have to have a bowel movement, i HAVE to go right away. If i attempt to hold it at all i will have excruciating lower abdominal pain/spasms. No test seems to give me answers im stumped, anybody else been through anything like that? Because this is new to me

It could be as simple as functional pain. When I started healing, I had similar pain. Now I only have it if I eat something I should not. Wish I had a better answer.

Sorry but I don't have an solid answer for you. I do know that it's possible for IBD people to also develop IBS so it's possible that you may have it as well. It's a different beast altogether but I do think one of the symptoms is an uncontrollable urge to go. Just a possibility I thought I'd throw your way in case you hadn't thought of it.

Are you saying that you think your in remission from Crohn's but your not sure?
You have no other symptoms going on right now?

I have the same thing. I have no idea why.

jyeager, dont forget a Colonoscopy is exactly what it says, a scope of your Colon (& terminal ileum). But it doesn't necessarily follow that your small bowel is Crohns free because your colon is. Remember Crohns can affect anywhere from your mouth to your rectum.
I would ask for an Ultrasound, I've had a few & they've always picked up inflammation & strictures. Or a barium follow through. Colonoscopys are great @ what they do but they dont cover everything. Hope you feel better soon.
