Wisdom teeth
I have a bit of a request for info here. From a bone density scan I had about 6 months ago it was found i have oesteopenia in my spine (don't know if it is due to the crohns but my consultant sent me for it so he must have thought it did). As a result i'm on the once a week actonel.
This week i went for my first dental check up since being on it. The information sheet with the tablets says to inform the dentist before any dental treatment etc. Unfortunately i've had three fillings as past 4/5 years (only appeared with the crohns symtoms-coincidence? maybe not), so i thought i'd say in case anything came up.
I was then advised to get my top two wisdom teeth removed before i am on actonel too long. I cant understand it as one is through, the other partly and never have i felt a twinge of pain and they appear to have room. My dentist says that it is a precaution, as if 4 or 5 years down the line i get pain in them he'll have to remove them, but by that time the actonel can cause problems with healing of the gum and result in some very undesirable jaw issues, infections etc.
I can understand this but also by this logic surely you could say that about all my teeth?
My appointment to go and get both removed is very soon and i'm getting a bit jittery now. Anyone have any similar experiences?
