I'm planning to move back to Bergen (I lived there for six months before, extremely ill but luckily not hospitalized and I had stocked up on medication before I moved) and the only thing I'm really concerned about with moving is transitioning from treatment here in the states to treatment in Norway. If there is anything anyone can tell me about how things have worked for you with seeing a specialist, how hard it is to get your medications, what tests are like, colonoscopy, etc that would be so helpful.
Some background info: I'm a Norwegian citizen, but have not been employed there yet so I'm not sure if I qualify for state paid care. I am ill to the extent that I am considered disabled in the U.S. The hospital I would most likely use is Haukeland. I've had Crohn's for five years and have never been in remission, but have had one resection and been on almost every available medication. I'm currently on Cimzia among other things.
Any information would help. My aunts both work in healthcare at Haukeland, but don't have specific experience working with GI doctors so they couldn't give me a lot of details. I figure someone with personal experience with Crohn's in Norway would be the best!
