Hi, very new to this, Diagnosed Crohns 2000. Bowel resection 2009. On Mesavant and Prednisone. Last flare up Nov 2013. Week in hospital. Considering remicade. Suffering with arthritis, knee, groin, hip pain. Struggling with it all.

Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear what you're dealing with. :(

Have you been on Prednisone long-term, or only for short periods? If you don't start Remicade, what are your other options?

You can read about Remicade and others' experiences on it in our Remicade section of the Treatment forum, found here.

I hope things get better for you soon!

Just finished three months of prednisone. Still have the moon face etc. short term over the years seems to help. This is the first time I have been so affected with arthritis though. I am trying physiotherapy, and some non steroid anti inflammatory drugs, no improvement yet.

Ugh these diseases are no fun :( hopefully Remicade will be your miracle drug, combatting both your crohn's and arthritis. They may also add methotrexate to prevent antibodies and the good news with that is that drug may also help with your arthritis.
